Yeah, I'm calling BS on the "he ran the wrong route"...that looked planned as hell...as in Travis and Pat knew what they were going to do, and it wasn't the play that was called.
This is the play that really gets me excited about the Chiefs offense this year. Look at those safeties, approximately one hundred million miles from the line of scrimmage.
I think I heard Mozart playing in the background when I saw this. This was divine. Upper tier LT, QB and WR play all on one snap.
I feel like Justin Watson will be uncovered on every play Mahomes has more than 5 seconds this season. On these plays the defense will choose between a touchdown or a 20-yard gain to Watson.
Art. No wasted motion. Like watching Jordan stick a turnaround fadeaway from the post, or Montana's precise footwork leading into a flawless 50-yard bomb to Rice. Precise biomechanical movements to elicit applause! Huzzah!
Mahomes made this look easy. I'd wager less than 10 QBs in the NFL make this play consistently. I kinda wish he had thrown the ball to JuJu over the Arrowhead because it LOOKS like he thought about it.
Whee!
I feel like Joe Posnanski would write 900 words about this play, and how even when Mahomes is not winning the game with a play, he is still somehow making a game-saving play, because this play probably did that.
Not only does he get sandwiched by All-Pro defenders, Mahomes throws him a 2-seam fastball that's still rising as it gets there pic.twitter.com/uL1OxlEWYL
