I like Russell Wilson, but he hasn't won anything of import since the Legion of Boom fell apart.

Guy hasn't sniffed a Super Bowl without an all-time great defense.

8-9, last in the division seems about right for the donks. And that's against a 4th place schedule.

Russ will feel right at home not going to the playoffs the rest of his career.

Surtain was a legit *good* CB as a rookie and is going to establish himself as an elite CB this season https://t.co/BpbYScDgh8

I can't remember a young CB that plays as patiently as he does. Everything usually feels rushed for young CBs, they're too quick to bite on the first thing they see. Virtually impossible to beat the guy with a double move.

They already had a solid defense in place (which I would agree that the Donkos do as well), but they also had a strong offense with elite playmakers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Which Denver has neither of. So how the hell did the 2019 Bucs finish under .500? You can blame that simply on turnovers, specifically, from their QB who led the NFL with 30 INT's. So Tampa needed a QB and they got one.

Now, you'd like us all here to believe that Denver is just a QB away. Interestingly enough, the Donkos ranked near the bottom of the NFL in turnovers last year (as in good, not turning it over). They finished 26th in turnovers. That is good. Your QB's threw only 9 INT's on the season.

But, according to you, Russell Wilson is all you needed to be elite. Oddly enough, his 6 INT's last year and INT% of 1.5, is not far off from Teddy's 7 INT's and INT% of 1.6 or even Drew Lock's (albeit limited) INT% of 1.8. How about TD's? DangeRuss threw for 25 last year in 400 passing attempts (with D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett as his #1 & #2, keep in mind). A TD% of 6.3. Not great, but not terrible. Teddy (since you claimed QB is what was holding you back) threw for 18 TD's in 416 attempts for TD% of 4.2. So not as good as R.W.'s so an upgrade there, albeit not a large one. Let's look at yards: 3,052 yards for Teddy in 416 attempts. How bout Russ? 3,113 yards in 400 attempts. So not a huge difference.
The Broncos literally tried to play Martyball last year. That is why the turnovers were so low. Jameis at least gave his WR's a chance to put up numbers. It didn't lead to many wins, but it inflated yardage/TD totals.

You guys can write off our weapons all you want, I remember hearing similar things from you guys about DT, Decker and Julius Thomas the year Peyton showed up.

That’s a big reason your defense is so overrated. It isn’t just losing an elite defensive coach. Your offense had zero passing game. Nobody was scared of it.

That’s why the majority of teams like the Chiefs took their foot off the gas once they got to 21 or more points

Much like you wrote off Patrick Mahomes as a Jay Cutler pick machine, you fucking hypocrite?

Manning's nemesis was Brady, Wilson's was Garoppolo. Same thing

You're forgetting one thing.... Manning could see over his linemen. :-)

Yep. KC definitely took their feet off the gas in that home game. As Reid typically does. It was obvious that Denver wouldn't score enough.

Denver padded their defensive numbers by shutting down bad offenses like the Jets, Jaguars, Lions and Browns with Keenum and a 3rd string RB.

The decent offenses on Denver's schedule averaged over 24 ppg. Not exactly elite territory. LA, LV and Philly all hung 30+ on them. Their opponents usually scored almost all of their points by the 3rd quarter before going into cruise control.

I think the most telling stat for a D is probably yards per play. They were middle of the pack in that stat. Which is probably about right. A middle of the pack D. WITH Fangio.

Pretty similar to me…

Obsession over the Details.
