Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

I don’t see why we can’t go to the SB again next year.
You never know if you'll get back to the Super Bowl in the future. It's very hard to get there. Veach has his work cut out for him to manage the roster this offseason and try to put together a strong enough team to beat all the other AFC teams. Everyone else in the conference will be making plenty of aggressive moves to improve their situation. [Reply]

Mahomes is not to blame for the loss. He's the one responsible for getting us there to begin with.
To use another metaphor, it reminds me of Red Bull's last season. Verstappen complained about the car a lot, but only his teammate was getting slower. What's wrong with Perez? Why is he so slow? Is he stupid? Turns out, the car was getting worse and worse, but Verstappen was talented enough to still make it still look fast. Finally, the car got so bad, even Verstappen had trouble winning a race anymore.
Mahomes did not drive a fast car this season. He drove a mid-tier shitbox with enough skill to make it look fast. He finally went up against a better team and no longer had the race pace to keep up. [Reply]

Montana went 4-0 in them.
Unless Pat doesn't something insane like win 8+ he can't pass Tom now. People can get mad about that but Tom was IN every SB he played in. And Montana never lost one.
I’m a little late but you shit all over this thread with a bunch of emotional, terrible takes..

Mahomes has never lost a non-Super Bowl playoff game in regulation in 7 years. Can't imagine anyone else in the history of the game has come close to that. But it's true the title games carry more weight in people's minds.

He should have been 3-4 if the Falcons just kept running the ball.
Brady did nothing in the SB win against Jared Goff.
Mahomes needs tons of luck to win 7 SBs.

2012 AFC Championship Game… Brady was curb stomped again at home by the Ravens, losing 28-13.
Great posts here from a bunch of guys who aren’t braindead. Well done. [Reply]
What Mahomes has done is amazing considering the OL has not been good for 5 years. He has run around a lot and made things happen with other teams cast offs at skill positions.
It sucks that this happened in the SB because that's what is remembered. Games leading up to it are forgotten. Brady has said this, and he knows it firsthand. Nobody talks about the 18-0 season because they lost the SB.
Its sucks. This one game would have put Mahomes past brady in many media spots but now they will never unless he at least gets to 7 or goes back-to-back again. [Reply]

They're not mutually exclusive. He got us there and he also had one of his worst games professionally that significantly contributed to us losing. Just is what it is. Dust yourself off, fix the few glaring holes in our roster, and crack on. [Reply]
i think the line played well enough to where a non-rattled mahomes makes this work and that is probably what reid bet on. much bigger concern about this game is how mahomes handled moments when he wasn't pressured - like at all.
this was not the tampa game. but it feels like it psychologically BECAME the tampa game for him. i dunno man, he needs to see a sports psychologist if he isn't already. [Reply]

The AFC is stacked and all the teams will be making aggressive moves. Veach is going to have to figure out the offense and retool things with a very tight budget. [Reply]

Quite clear that there are two very different sides to Pat. When he's on, the opponent has no chance. When he's off and gets into his own head, we have no chance.
The only thing that seems to get to his head is BEING PRESSURED AT A RECORD LEVEL IN THE GODDAMN SUPER BOWL. So maybe, just maybe, get this poor bastard a goddamn left tackle that can not embarrass this entire franchise in front of the goddamn free world on the biggest stage on Earth.
This CANNOT happen again. It SHOULDN'T have happened a second time. They're going to Andrew Luck this dude if they don't cut the shit out. Get him a goddamn left tackle. I don't want to hear shit about the cap, the Eagles manage to put a dream team around Hurts so save me the bullshit.

Yeah, the first INT Pick 6 can happen.... but the second INT was just too much.
It was really bad.
I don't even remember the second half of the AFCCG against the Bengals being that bad... and it was BAD. [Reply]

Yeah, many people always want one throat to choke, then others will always act like saying any little criticism of someone is the same as attacking their entire career or some shit.
Reality always lives somewhere in the middle.
We talk a lot about playoff experience and adversity, and well they didn't handle adversity very well last night... the reason the line wasn't much of an issue against the Bills is because Mahomes was extremely quick and decisive, and they had a great game plan around the Bills' weaknesses.
Whatever plan they had last night went to shit quickly and they just never recovered... and of course that's partly on the half-billion dollar quarterback. It's on everybody. Kelce for dropping a couple passes, DHop for whatever that was, Andy for seemingly getting out-coached, the offensive line for being awful.
They got punched in the mouth by a better team, which happens sometimes, but never would have expected that sort of non-response from them. [Reply]
