Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]
This might not be a popular discussion point, but Mahomes' cap number the next 3 years is $66 million, $68 million, and $65 million. That number is going to make it a lot harder to build around him. Jalen Hurts doesn't even surpass $50 million until 2029. Yes Mahomes has had the superior accolades and accomplishments but it's a statement of fact, Hurts' contract makes it far easier to keep a team around him than Mahomes' contract right now. [Reply]

I think he wins 5 rings, which puts him second only to Brady. I’ve been stuck on that number for awhile.
Tonight was a missed opportunity, regardless of who we blame for that.

He's been blown out in two bowls. Tom never got blown out. EVER. Not even once.
Montana went 4-0 in them.
Unless Pat doesn't something insane like win 8+ he can't pass Tom now. People can get mad about that but Tom was IN every SB he played in. And Montana never lost one.
What the feck are you yapping about? Brady lost TWICE to one guy two SB's in a row. And you think a QB that just did something no back to back QB had ever done has been damaged by a loss tonight? Feck off. It's this silly bs from frauds on this forum that really makes me laugh smh. [Reply]

But that is a different era of football too.
My point is, this loss was really damning to Pat's legacy.
Why can't people admit that?
If Pat goes on to win 7-8 then people can bring up the GOAT talk again, but this REALLY did a number on that
Honestly, who cares about the GOAT talk? I care about getting Mahomes back to the best in the game currently, whatever that takes. GOAT talk means nothing right now and accomplishes nothing. [Reply]
Brady is not even half the quarterback Mahomes was and anybody who watched them (and is being honest about what they watched) knows that.
Mahomes doesn’t have to “pass” anybody. He’s the best quarterback to ever play the position and that doesn’t change because his offensive line got their shit kicked in another SB. [Reply]

This loss really tarnished Pat's Legacy. It did. People need to be real about that.
Montana.....NEVER LOST ONE.
Brady has NEVER BEEN BLOWN OUT IN ONE.
Pat has been blown out in two. TWO.
He's never going to be the GOAT.
So it's the end of the world, I guess? Are you suggesting he should have never even played the sport? What is the point of your rant? I don't get it. He has already won more Playoff games than Joe Montana, even though he is 9 years younger than Montana's retirement age.
There is way more important stuff going on in the Mahomes family right now considering the hospice situation with his grandfather. Really puts into perspective how silly the sports world is. Just my two cents. [Reply]
