Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

The way he said "this year" just pumped me up as we have a kid who's already not accepting the "backup" term even if we know that's where he stands. Love the competitiveness. I'm ready for preseason!

Sweet!
I remember in OTA's Chris Jones was giving Mahomes some shit for being too serious and not smiling. [Reply]

I would actually be pretty disappointed/shocked if Mahomes had any other mindset than to be the starting QB... this year!
I know Gruden is not the end-all/be-all when it comes to QB's on his QB Camp segments, but he just seemed to think Mahomes has something special. Then, when he and Kiper had glowing praise and a fist bump upon the Chiefs moving up to get Mahomes... with Watson still on the board... it just felt like we got this one right.
On top of that, way back early in this thread somewhere, you have the Reid article where they brought Mahomes in and threw the kitchen sink at him for 6 to 8 hours, and he came up ace's on everything.
I think he will start this season. Probably around Thanksgiving... give or take. But I won't be shocked if it much earlier than that either. [Reply]
If they're winning, I doubt they wanna disrupt the ship with a qb change. Unless he just blows it out of the water I doubt we see him this year [Reply]

It would take a plane crash for this season to "go to crap". [Reply]

Right... So Alex Smith should definitely get more respect around here IMO. 21-years is a long time. It's not like we were winning SBs before the guy got here. [Reply]
