IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

But......the way this is trending could this be the year they just fucking massacre their way thru this thing?

Look at how it's setting up.

You could get a limp dick Texans or a shitbird Steeler team ideally here in the divisional round, then a Bills team with a defense htisimage could throw against.

Who are you gonna get in the SB? Philly's defense is good but it's no 9ers teams we've seen before.
I just posted in the Watson thread and was thinking about this post.

Getting healthy Marquise Brown fully up to speed, Omenihu back at 100 percent, Watson back and rolling, and a healthy DJ Humphries plugged in at LT ... all seem like things you'd need to go blowtorch everyone on the way to three-peating.

That would be... pretty fun. An entire postseason of games that look like the 2020 AFC championship or the 22 Wildcard round against the Steelers? sign me up.

That does sound like fun. Just wish Reid would do it.

Reid had a wild hair up his ass in the 2019 playoffs. Unsure if it was going down 0-24 or if the man was antsy to win his first chip that did it, but man, it was special to watch Patrick continue to take deep shots against the Texans and the Titans when we were already up by two scores to put those games away.

Mahomes late game bombs in both of those games is the kind of aggressiveness we’ve rarely seen Andy dial up before that run or after.

Thank God we're getting healthy, but the injuries have also really prepared the team to deal with potential injuries in the postseason. We've had to work the lineup over many times and in many ways, so there are lots of guys that are really ready to step in if/when the moment arises. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it won't be necessary, but hope is not a plan.

The two best things that could've happened before the Chiefs go on their playoff run for a three-peat have taken place.

1. Patrick Mahomes is getting rest.

2. Patrick Mahomes got disrespected by the MVP/Pro Bowl voters. pic.twitter.com/o1rjkAvPYw

I'll up it one more. If Josh Allen is the MVP why isn't Darnold? Minnesota and Buffalo had similar preseason expectations. Darnold threw more TDs, better QB rating and his team if they win tomorrow has less losses.

The MVP should be between Allen, Darnold, and a distant 3rd Burrow.

Yes Jacksons stats would say he is but he already has two and he doesn't deserve any more career MVPs.

Now I think Darnold would absolutely suck outside of O'Connell's system but why are we picking ans choosing Allen as the defacto MVP and giving absolutely no thought to Darnold?

I'm stunned at Darnolds season, I didn't think he had it in him.

If any of Lamar, Allen or Burrow were 15-1 with Mahomes’ stats, they’d be voted MVP by the Chiefs-hating national media. We all know it to be true.

That’s why it’s not worth dwelling on these awards at all. I similarly stopped taking the NBA MVP seriously when the media found some ridiculous justification to give it to Derrick Rose over prime LeBron just because he was on the villain Heat.

It simply isn’t about who the best or most valuable player is. It’s about what the “best” narrative is at that given moment.

Yeah, it's surprising. But I think it reiterates what we already knew.

He has a lot of snaps, but they're for the Jets and Panthers. Dude needed a guy to develop him, not set the house on fire.

Coaching matters. Just like fuckholes like Squirmin Herman Motherfucking Sack of Cunt Edwards were never going to get anywhere because nobody ever got better under his tutelage. Ever.

Dude needed a dude to help him grow. Got it with Shanarat Jr and O'Connell.

Just look at all the meaningless stats Henry compiled yesterday in a game that was out of hand, despite it being a bad idea to have him in the game at all.

You think Harbaugh held back with Lamar throughout the year?

Look at all the vulture TDs for Allen. You think McDermott is considering Allen’s health for the postseason?

How many QB sneaks did it take before that simply wasn’t in the playbook for Andy Reid?

And most importantly, who has the titles to justify their decision making?

In hindsight, you almost have to wonder if the 49ers should’ve sold high on Purdy last offseason and retained Darnold on the cheap.

I'll be real interested to see the adjustment defenses make this offseason. Usually we set the tone but may not be the case next year. They played us with 2-deep, we adjusted, they loosened it up last year so chuck it guys like Jordan love and CJ stroud and tua thrived, this year back to deep zones. It feels like system and coaching play a huge part of that and arguably guys like darnold, baker, goff fit that mold nicely. Particularly teams like these that love to use their TEs and RBs. I'd say burrow too but he's a lot more scheme proof.

After what we saw from guys like stroud I'm real curious to see if he has a back to back in him. Good reason to keep McCarthy around for insurance
