So Nathaniel Hackett will not be coaching Aaron Rodgers this season or probably ever again. Make no mistake, it's a blow, but it can be softened. Plan B would be Russell Wilson. Failing that, Plan C is fluid. Watson eventually? Hurts? Vet "bridge" QB/Lock with 1st-rd QB?#9sportshttps://t.co/VzK9JsXYg0

I guess it was just a huge coincidence.
It clearly factored in. When Denver made the hire reports read: Hackett was the member of the coaching staff closest to Rodgers. Will Rodgers stay in GB with Hackett gone? Could Rodgers follow Hackett to Denver? [Reply]

I think it was a fun story for people to run with... I never had issues with the pursuit or the hire. I think he's a solid option and he's putting together a nice staff. I thought it was laughable that so many thought the ability to lure Rodgers was a main reason why Denver hired him. [Reply]

Yea it’s just a coincidence that they desperately wanted Rodgers and hired his favorite coach!
It might not have been the sole reason, but it definitely inspired the hire. [Reply]
Apparently Hackett made Bortles look respectable. Regardless of that if I was a Bronco fan I’d be banging the table for an offensive minded QB coach, which is what they got.
Now I’d be wanting my team to seriously evaluate Malik Willis bc he does have a high ceiling. Not Mahomes or Allen high ceiling but he’s got potential to be a good QB..not a game manager like Mac Jones. Dude has a cannon for an arm and is very mobile.
If they feel he’s good enough trade up for him. You have assets to do it, but go all in if you fee he’s going to be good bc the Steelers are apparently in love with that guy.
If the Broncos are going to have any chance of beating the Chiefs they’ll need a very good QB on a rookie deal. That’s the only way. [Reply]

They literally think they should just be handed a franchise QB, like what happened with Peyton isn’t a once in a generation lucky situation.
They’re completely delusional.
Once Elway spurned the Colts and accepted coming to Denver, they've had this attitude.
I don't see Nuggets fans acting like they're owed great players. In fact, they expect their great players to be traded away. Same with Rockies and Avs fans.
But the Broncos? "John Elway got traded here once! The NFL owed us Peyton Manning! Aaron Rodgers surely wants to play for this historically great franchise whose best QB they ever drafted was probably Brian fucking Griese! [Reply]
So now I'm in favor of Denver getting anyone but Watson. I still fear Watson. Russell Wilson is vulnerable and will cost Denver 2-3 1st. Love didn't show much when on the field this year. [Reply]

Not sure it was the main reason, but it definitely was a big reason. I think it's equally laughable when Denver fans try and deny it.

Listen to the Pat McAfee show.
Get your popcorn ready
Im told this is happening behind the scenes and Rodgers is gracefully leaving GB and will be joining his best friend Hackett and the Broncos!
