Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]
Caitlin Clark type effect right here. Rest of the league fucking jealous. Mahomes makes more shooting a couple State Farm commercials than most players' contracts. Hate us cuz they ain't us. [Reply]
Welp...that settles it...Im throwing a couple grand on Mahomes to win MVP tonight. You know that pisses off Andy Reid as well. Time to blow some teams the F out! [Reply]
The players vote for this late in the regular season.
I think he’s the best player in the world by far, but it’s hardly surprising in November that they went in a different direction. He didn’t play at the highest level.
And then they fucked around and found out when he won a SB. This is just the nature of those rankings. [Reply]

Zero people are actually dumb enough to think those players are better. Zero. [Reply]

Why is Aaron Rodgers in the list? He was done for the season after a few plays. [Reply]
How theoretically obvious was it that Mahomes was going to be #1?
Well, the NFL’s current pinned tweet is a player on the list outright refusing to say the name of who will be #1 because he doesn’t want to say “Patrick Mahomes”.

He’s 92. If a handful of people vote for him as a token to his career, he winds up as 92. That has no relevance to where Mahomes ends up on the list. [Reply]

Mahomes was playing at a fine level. Not exactly his fault his WRs were turning well thrown passes into interceptions and incompletions regularly for a large portion of the regular season. [Reply]

Positive rep sent because I accidentally downvoted this.
This is and has always been a prisoner-of-the-moment popularity contest. We’ve seen the same thing in prior years. Would anyone be taken in a draft ahead of Mahomes? Of course not. But did these players objectively perform better in the regular season last year? I think they did or at least there’s a strong argument they did.
It’s not disparaging when he ends up as #4, guys. He didn’t win MVP. He didn’t deserve MVP (or OPOTY). It’s okay. He won a SB and that matters a helluva lot more. [Reply]
