Hey all, you know the deal...
The other thread hit over 1,000 posts and we have server issues when that shit happens so here she be, a fancy new mega thread.
Anyway, just a quick rundown.
Post anything and everything gaming in here. Console games, handheld/mobile games or PC.
Playing something you love or maybe hate? Find a hidden gem on Steam? Let us know via a review. Try to make sure you give a good rundown on it. Graphics, sound, storyline, overall gameplay and replayability. Let's keep it at a 1-10 scale.
Thanks to all that left me awesome rep comments/posts and even pm's thanking me for the many reviews I wrote.
Just an FYI, developers do read our comments in here I guess. CD Projekt Red (of Witcher 3) was one that stopped by.
Anyway, thanks all for your input and as always, no griefing. [Reply]
A lot of the same from Zero Dawn, which I was OK with. This one has more weapons and gear by far.
Spoiler!
Lighting up Las Vega for the first time was badass.
You can turn in the ornament collectibles from the relic ruins in to a guy out there and he’ll run them to change the holograms to a specific holiday. I changed mine to Christmas and kept it that way.
It’s hilarious anytime I’m in the area exploring at nighttime seeing a bunch of snowflakes and reindeer lighting up the sky.
I. LOVE ncaa 25
It’s got its warts etc but man it’s so mf fun. Especially once you learn pass protection concepts and coverages etc I went down a football 101 rabbit hole and I’ve been enjoying the fuck out of it. It’s hard. And it’s great. It makes the moments when you call the right play and the defense plays the coverage you were expecting and you have pass pro set up and let it rip. So rewarding.

I am very much looking forward to it. I'm a big time Silent Hill fan. I remember getting the first one on my birthday in 1999. At first I thought it was a Resident Evil wannabe, but I quickly came to love it.
I don't know if the remake of SH2 will be good or shitty. From what I've seen, it could go either way. I'm sure there will be some things that I don't like since I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to these games. I just wish they would remaster the originals and release them on the PS store. Seems like an easy cash grab. [Reply]

At this point I’ve completed every salvage contract, damn near every side quest, climbed all those dumb ass signal towers, and only have one of the black boxes and survey drones left to find.
I will probably wrap up the main storyline here within the next week or so.
Yeah I'm in it now but in the beginning right after your first encounter with Beta, but the open world, hunting, upgrading, the verticality with the new shield, just Breath of the Wild levels of enjoyment and just getting lost in the world. I don't have alot of time to play but when I do on my new 4k computer monitor with 4090 card, is exceptional. I felt underpowered at first, like egregiously so, but once I figured out where the valor and three arrow draw were at, it instantly became pretty awesome, step by step in line with Zero Dawn, but I feel the story so far is much more engaging off the bat and less mysterious and ambiguous. Seeing you being able to fly on Glinthawks in social media videos can't wait for that to open up, also my breath underwater doesn't last nearly long enough so looking forward to when I get an item that lets me hold my breath underwater so I can explore that as well. So I was actually closer to the end than I anticipated and was able to finish it last night. I enjoyed the open world, crafting, etc. like you say. The customization and upgrading of the gear was a highlight. I loved going to the top of the highest mountains and parachuting off - some pretty amazing views.
I ended up liking the story for Zero Dawn a bit more but this one was definitely interesting as well.
I’ll spoiler tag this for you just in case, though I don’t think it’s super spoilery. It’s more so advice about some of the stuff you just mentioned.
Spoiler!
Re: what you mention about riding Glinthawks and breathing underwater..
So first and foremost, you actually cannot unlock the override to be able to ride Sunwings until the second-to-last main story mission. I thought that was complete and total bullshit as I’d pretty much cleared the entire map of quests by the time I completed that quest. I could have used a damn flying machine to get around more easily! So that’s just something for you to keep in mind.
Also, you've noticed that you’ll need some gear to help stay underwater longer. You’ve probably already noticed the firegleams and metal flowers as well. I did a ton of exploring early on in the game, finding underwater stuff I couldn’t reach and all that. Then I had to complete main story missions only to go back to these remote parts of the map to be able to fully explore them.
I would 100% recommend not doing a ton of exploring until you’ve completed the main storylines that give you the gear to stay under water longer, ignite the fire gleam and remove the metal flowers. That way you’ll save yourself a ton of time not having to double back later on.
Just a suggestion, of course. Play how you like - that’s just something I wish I had known before I started the game.
To this day, probably my favorite console experience. SNES and SEGA Genesis anyway.
Super Mario World, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter II, Sonic, A Link to the Past, Yoshi’s Island, Tetris (and Dr Mario), Donkey Kong Country, NBA Jam, Turtles in Time.. man. Those were the days. [Reply]
