IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

You're not making a lick of sense. You're just holding on to the Smithian trait of pussy-ass no pick football because that's all you've ever had.

Guess what bub, the future is on the roster and he's going to throw a few more picks and no one will give a **** if the scoreboard is lighting up.
No, listen, you uneducated mouth breathing moron. The Giants BARELY made the playoffs as a wild card team. The Giants escaped San Fran thanks to two fumbles by a rookie and Morgan/Ginn/Braylon Edwards missing with injury at the WR position. They needed outstanding ball protection and an elite level play of defense to topple Rodgers, and BB/Brady.

Defense wins championships. Not reckless QB play.

Heck, this isn't even the stupidest thing he's ever posted. He's actually right for once. Kurt Warner was a great example. Brett Favre is another. Sure the Int's hurt. But Favre and Warner more than made up for their picks. Hopefully Mahomes doesn't throw 20 picks in a year. But if he's able to replicate Favre and Warner's success doing that, then I can live with it.
If Patrick Mahomes II rookie year put up 3,739 yards passing, 26 TD with 28 interceptions I'd be pretty stoked for our future.

With as many wrs we have running wide the fuck open in this offense. If mahomes has any ounce of talent he will be highly successful....

It's a QB friendly system in a QB friendly era in the NFL.

Those personal stats are actually from Peyton Manning rookie season and the Colts were like 1-15 but you could see he was going be a great quarterback and the wins will come along so when Patrick Mahomes II gets experience we can start winning in the playoffs bountiful.

Do you consider Alex to be an entertaining QB? That's one of the many things I don't like about him...he makes the offense so non-entertaining. When you watch Smith play, are you entertained? If so, what is it about him that you could possibly find entertaining?!?!?!

Not so much anymore. I'm pretty tired of his lack of evolving. Waited and waited for his long process of becoming more aggressive, and I'm pretty well tired of waiting.

I'm still a fan of him as a person, and as a player that overcame great adversity. Still though, it has been time for him to further improve, and it doesn't appear to be ever happening.

Seahawks were a boring team and they won a ring. I don't see their fan base complaining. If anything, it's their defense that was the most exciting part. Again, no complaints from their fan base.

Also to add.. I like a team that matriculates the ball to frustrate defenses.

The Chiefs last season were 10th best in passing efficiency. The problem comes with their 26th ranked RZ efficiency, their 20th ranked run game, and conservative nature (from Smith and Reid) of settling for FGs.

I still consider this a TEAM problem to fix. Not just a QB problem. Smith does have to shoulder some blame though. He took a step backward last season, and his contract will all but dictate his departure whether he retires or not.

That's fine. There's always a time to move on for players. Next up, Mahomes. If he can learn the matriculating efficiency while also possessing the guts to let the ball fly more frequently, great! but I hope he doesn't try Kaepernicking his career away. Backyard balling, and just chuck it up bruh! mentalities won't last in the pros. I want him to be the complete QB that types like Kaepernick.. and even Smith.. haven't/can't be.

This is false. Russell Wilson was among the NFL leaders in downfield passing in 2013, completing 26 attempts over 20 yards. That's more than double what Smith had last season.

Nine of those passes went for TDs.

This was a very high percentage of his attempts overall, as he only threw 407 times.

That is the exact opposite of boring.

The Seahawks passing game was explosive, and this was further borne out in the fact that Wilson was 3rd in the NFL in yards per completion and 4th in YPA.

Having explosion in your passing game is a necessary component on a championship caliber team, barring rare circumstances, like the Broncos, Ravens or Bucs.

Russell Wilson and Beast Mode were boring in Seattle? :-)

To put the Wilson vs Smith argument to bed....

Russell Wilson has thrown 40 TDs on passes over 20 yards since he entered the league five seasons ago.

Smith has 10 in that same time span.
