Media Center>All Things Video Games & Game Reviews Part II
Gonzo 10:39 AM 08-31-2015
Hey all, you know the deal...
The other thread hit over 1,000 posts and we have server issues when that shit happens so here she be, a fancy new mega thread.

Anyway, just a quick rundown.

Post anything and everything gaming in here. Console games, handheld/mobile games or PC.

Playing something you love or maybe hate? Find a hidden gem on Steam? Let us know via a review. Try to make sure you give a good rundown on it. Graphics, sound, storyline, overall gameplay and replayability. Let's keep it at a 1-10 scale.

Thanks to all that left me awesome rep comments/posts and even pm's thanking me for the many reviews I wrote.
Just an FYI, developers do read our comments in here I guess. CD Projekt Red (of Witcher 3) was one that stopped by.

Anyway, thanks all for your input and as always, no griefing.

It's relatively fun compared to the older games, although there's the usual release shenanigans that need to be ironed out with the first big patch.

Madden feels very similar to years prior, but now they added a lot more animations where the ball carriers bounce off tackles. And now there are 3 separate announcer crews which they've needed for a long long time.

Corndog is in the playbook now too. I tried it from the 2 yard line. It was covered well but I ran it in with Mahomes anyway.

the dynasty mode has failed with any sort of immersion for me

And how often do starters just transfer when they are going to start again the next season for a school like KU? 5-6 per year seems weird to me but I haven't been paying that much attention to college football over the years.

Well I just played my first game. I haven’t played since Mahomes and Brady were on the cover. I must say the game’s incredibly realistic. Toney injured himself on a running play where he wasn’t touched in the third quarter and was out the rest of the game.

He didn't grow up with the good football games, all we really have is Madden these days which sucks. I prefer Tecmo bowl any day of the week to this crap.

This looks interesting:

AntStream Arcade is expanding to PS4 and PS5, offering retro gaming fans access to 1,300 classic video games through cloud streaming.

The subscription service, priced at $39.99 yearly or $99.99 lifetime, includes titles from NES, Sega Genesis, Atari, and more, with new games added weekly.

AntStream emphasizes video game preservation, community engagement, and mini game challenges in addition to offering retro gaming experiences.

AntStream Arcade, a third-party retro game streaming service, will soon be making its way to PS4 and PS5 consoles. AntStream Arcade is a subscription gaming service that, for $39.99 per year or $99.99 for lifetime access, offers cloud access to more than 1,300 classic video games. Its imminent addition to the PlayStation Store will instantly provide retro gaming fans with a plethora of new titles to enjoy, without the hassle of dealing with adapters, emulators, or ROMs.

AntStream Arcade became available on Xbox consoles a little over a year ago and has been well received on that platform. This actually made several classic PlayStation 1 titles — including Hogs of War and Worms — playable on Xbox. AntStream also offers games originally released on the NES, Sega Genesis, Atari Lynx, and even Amiga, among many others. The cloud gaming service adds two new titles to its catalog every week, with the total offering currently hitting 1,357.

Despite their age and technological limitations, many arcade games from the golden age are still an absolute blast to play today.

During AntStream’s Arcade Connect Presentation on August 14, it was revealed that the streaming service will soon be available on PS4 and PS5 consoles. Though CEO Steve Cottam stated in the presentation that the service was “available now” on PlayStation platforms, as of the time of writing, it can only be wishlisted on the PlayStation Store. Nevertheless, the addition of AntStream Arcade will mark the first time a third-party cloud streaming service has joined the PlayStation ecosystem and will surely be welcomed by retro gaming fans.

What Does AntStream Arcade Have on Offer?

Also during the presentation, AntStream gave a preview of the retro games that subscribers can expect to see added to the service now or in the near future, including Gun Force 2, Tiger Shark, and Doodle World. But AntStream also now offers new retro indie games, such as ones created with PICO-8 Fantasy Console. In August, the platform is adding two PICO-8-developed titles: Puzzles of the Paladin and Mad Bomber. These games retain the classic 8-bit aesthetic that retro gamers appreciate, but also have the potential to integrate modern-day quality-of-life considerations that are sometimes noticeably missing from games created decades ago.

Now that it’s coming to PlayStation, AntStream Arcade is available for retro fans on Xbox, PC, Epic Games Store, iOS, Android, and even Samsung TVs and Amazon Fire TV. But the cloud gaming service isn’t just for playing games. AntStream has an active Discord community and offers mini game challenges and world tournaments as well. The company also places an emphasis on video game preservation, which is increasingly important as the number of classic games available for purchase out in the wild is now incredibly low.

The games in their list look absolutely awful. Shame.

I’m knee deep in Forbidden West right now actually. I told myself I was going to try to stick to the main storylines after exhausting myself chasing every quest and question mark on the map of Ghost of Tsushima. That lasted for like two seconds lol

At this point I’ve completed every salvage contract, damn near every side quest, climbed all those dumb ass signal towers, and only have one of the black boxes and survey drones left to find.

I will probably wrap up the main storyline here within the next week or so.
