Year Two of the Matt Quatraro tenure. Time to take a step up this year. Active in free agency and trades this offseason. A new look pitching rotation and bullpen. Will the young players take the leap up offensively? Bobby Witt extension? New stadium? Will Vinny recover from injury? Salvy taking aim at the Royals record book? Will Cole Ragans turn into the best Royals starting pitcher since Greinke 1.0?

I wonder if we would’ve considered Bauer for this years rotation if we weren’t coming up on the big stadium vote? This is the exact kind of market that should give him a shot. Worst case scenario the team isn’t doing well and you flip him at the deadline after it’s no longer “news” that he’s back in the league. Best case he pitches like a #2 and gives you good innings for dirt cheap on a team in the hunt in a weak division.
All that being said, I’d guess there’s zero chance ownership would risk the negative headlines that would undoubtedly come right before the teams location future is decided. Shame. [Reply]
Better than last year, but still not great. I'll say in the 68-72 range.
I always love having a ballgame on tv while I do chores and piss around on the internet. Fall asleep to it on the radio (now MLB app) like I did when I was a kid. If they can make it even a little interesting through the summer, it just adds to the experience. [Reply]
