We’ve reached the stage of Mahomes’ career where he’s doing the same, it seems to me

Then you are severely underestimating his competitiveness. In the offseason he said last year wasn’t a lot of fun and that he wanted them to play better all season. He wants to win Super Bowls but he also wants to be the best every season and he wants to punish opposing defenses. We just saw this against the Bengals when he made it a point to attack Britt with two deep passes. [Reply]

I don't think that's entirely accurate. That said, I think he definitely would like the offense to be more efficient. And I'm pretty sure he isn't happy about having his defense bail his ass out every game. I mean, in every single pregame speech to the team, he hammers the word "dominate!" Well, the offense sure as heck isn't dominating lately. And he's well aware of it, and he's not happy about it. [Reply]

Actions speak louder than words and his lack of focus in these games for the 2nd year in a row speaks to what he thinks about the regular season these days.
He played well in the Ravens game (easily our toughest opponent so far with the best defense),, though, so it’s no doubt there if he wants it to be. [Reply]
