The trick to getting a trade done is not fleecing a team of a talented player, it's identifying a situation that helps both sides of the deal. So while I'd love a guy like Cooper or Johnson, I don't see it happening. Maybe Cooper but since he's so cheap it's going to cost you a nice draft pick.

Which is why I think the guy you target is Christian Kirk. Jags are a mess. Our offense shouldn't be difficult for him to pick up. Jags save a bunch of money, doesn't cost us a ton in terms of a draft pick, and you can easily cut him in the final year of his deal if you want.

Yikes. Amari Cooper doing a very good impersonation of Kadarius Toney.

Johnson, yes -- maybe not Cooper. At least for Buffalo. He's a guy that is going to do the same things the people they already have are doing.

As for Dallas, with Cooks and Lamb, WR isn't their biggest problem. If they're moving capital, it probably needs to be directed at the OL and/or RB.

Really? That's hilarious.

At the deadline, maybe it's that cheap. Deadlines make deals.

That said, if it takes more to get that done NOW, I'm fine with it. If a 5th and 6th might get it over the hump in early November (week 10 is the deadline, no?) but a 3rd and 4th get it done NOW, I'd rather give more to get more than try to scrape along for 5 more weeks and then try to get the respective players at full gallop over a shorter timeline.

Moreover, what if you MISS? What if that doesn't get it done then? Now you're awfully tight against it.

Give more to get it done now, IMO.

I'd give a 3 if I had to honestly, Cooper is basically what they're missing at the moment a consistent veteran presence that knows what he's doing.

OF all the names so far, Diontae Johnson seems to make the most sense. Last year of contract, on a team that desperately needs draft picks, and should want as many reps for rookies Mingo and Legette as possible.

Would be nice to get someone in before the bye week so that time can be used getting them up to speed.

That one might be harder than Cooper, they have a first year HC, Dalton seems to have given them some life and Jonathon Brooks is returning, this dude may be like "I want to run my offense"

He's been anything but a model of consistency.

He had MASSIVE drop problems as a rookie, looked to get them under control and then in 2017 had them again. He had a rough drops year in Dallas in around 2019 and really, had some issues with them again LAST season.

Drops may absolutely be a big problem with him. And you just never know. Because he'll follow up a season like his 2019 season in Dallas with his 2020 season where he didn't drop anything.

Don't whistle past the graveyard with him - he could well be a disaster. But I think we have to risk it.

Because he could also be the good version of himself when we need it.

Oh I meant in the terms of he's pretty much always good for 70 catches 1000 yards and 6 TDs.

In Burt Veech I trust.

That said, my armchair GM ass would bring Ross up and avoid stone hands players like Amari Cooper. Nothing worse than a WR that can't catch.

Agree. Definitely no for anyone who wants an extension

Panthers defense already down Derrick Brown, now Shaq Thompson has a torn achilles.

They'd kinda be foolish not to listen on Dionte.
