Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?
Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? [Reply]
Anyone ever shoot maxxtech essential steel 223 rem ammo? It's steel cased so eh but building my wifes .223 wylde I want some kind of ammo. I refuse to spend a crap ton on ammo because of inflation atm. [Reply]

Heard of it. Never fired any. Know a couple guys that have, and never heard any complaints. Haven't bought a round of .223 rem in years, except for the one order earlier this year for some new varmint rounds. Been rolling my own for over a decade now.
But as a general rule, I try to avoid shooting steel cased .223 out of my ARs. Had a bad experience once, and washed my hands of all steel-cased rifle ammo after that. [Reply]

Read the whole thing, its very in depth, and just really interesting to me. You would think the casing on the ammo doesn't matter but it does. Now, whether that's due to the casing, or just to the quality of the ammo that they would put a steel casing on, or what, but after reading this I wouldn't shoot steel out of my gun except in need situations only. Would avoid. They won't even let you use this ammo at the range I go to. [Reply]
