Well, as I've said before... you can't play with the next draft in mind. They have to do the best the can with the players on the roster and then worry about 'the next QB' after the season.
Now that Denver is done playing the dregs of the NFL... it's time for a few real teams, starting with the Ravens in week 4 @ Denver.
Ravens have a strong team and they've had some injuries, kind of like Denver. However, this game has been pegged as a Ravens' win since the schedule was confirmed. Many will likely still say the Ravens will win - I think they probably will, especially with Denver missing both Jeudy and Hamler and now 2 starting OL. (word is still out on Risner and Glasgow)
Ravens lost the Raiders in OT, beat the Chiefs by 1 thanks to 2 rushing TDs by Lamar, then they win at Detroit on a 66 yd FG that should not have been allowed. So, they are 2-1 and could easily be 0-3 or 1-2... but a win is a win.
This is Denver's 2nd home game and the Ravens 3rd road game in 4 weeks.
Baltimore looks good against the rush, but that could be due to the fact that 3 teams combined for 1,000 yards passing in 3 games with the Raiders and Chiefs combining for nearly 800 passing yards.
At the end of the day - this is the biggest test for Denver so far and while they've won the games they were supposed to win, they have tripped up within the red zone and settled for FGs. Do that against the Ravens and they're going to lose.
This game will certainly fall on Teddy. Yes, the ground game needs to be a big factor, but the Broncos will have to have a big game passing. They've still failed to score a TD on their opening drive for some crazy consecutive stretch that dates back a while...
Call it passive/aggressive or whatever you like. Denver can win this game, but only if the defense contains Lamar and Teddy lights it up. I think it's going to be something like Ravens 21-17 or 24-20.
I do think they'll play better than most expect - would be great to get a handful of those injured guys back. I would not be surprised with a Denver win, but I'm not expecting it.
