Tang maybe a great coach, but he’ll be 57 in October and hasn’t had a run in March yet as HC. I find it Kentucky would go after a HC with little college HC experience and is 57.

Tang or someone else coming won’t change the culture within the fan base as a shit ton of people are delusional with expectations. Recruiting wise, Calipari is doing fine. The first five years of his tenure are unreasonable to expect to sustain over an entire decade. I believe at some point he’ll win another title at Kentucky if he’s there for another 5+ years. He’s too good of a recruiter and coach not to.

As someone who leans left and has lived in Austin for 12 years (just moved home this year), I can tell you that UT sphere is much bigger than the city of Austin. Tons and tons of wealthy, wine and cheese conservative Christians from all over the state and beyond make up the fan base. If he wins there, which is all that matters, you can bet your ass they'll be praying before games tip off and shit.

Certainly - it would play better in wacky Waco & Baylor.

That said, the UT basketball fanbase pretty much blows and the stadium is never full....

This season withstanding (as it’s not over yet), I’ve never really questioned the player’s efforts and Calipari not holding them to a standard with regards to giving a shit. Fuck, he called out Tshiebwe last week saying he wasn’t in the gym as often as last year. I also know that when they’ve had a four game losing streak, practices would go on longer. If someone’s playing like ass, Cal will switch them out. He subbed out the entire starting lineup at Alabama because they were getting their ass kicked.

Speaking of Frank Martin, I saw him at a coffee shop a year ago on a game day.
No one said anything aside from one guy going to shake his hand. I wonder what would’ve happened if he didn’t leave for SC.
