Yes, instead it makes complete sense to hitch your wagon to guys like an old Joe Flacco, Case Keenum, and Teddy Bridgewater.
I don't dislike Teddy as a placeholder, but he's just that-a guy who won't make mistakes but won't steal a game.
Given the Broncos current roster construction, they will not be sniffing the POs until they get an upgrade. [Reply]

Everyone knows they'd have been much better off drafting Fields.
Well.....almost everyone.
There is at least one guy who still thinks it was a better strategy to add another corner to what was already supposedly the most loaded group of DBs in the league. :-) [Reply]

It's not even that.
I would've just let Lock sink or swim instead of getting a guy who will keep the team competitive enough to just miss the POs. If Lock fails, he fails. If not, he's their starter. [Reply]

Lolol.
Denver has quite possibly the worst QB room in the league after passing on this opportunity to move up to go get one of these guys, or to just sit still and draft him…
Justin Fields
Mac Jones
Justin Herbert
Jordan Love
Josh Allen
Lamar Jackson
Desean Watson
Patrick Mahomes
:-) you guys ended up with Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Fucking Lock.
You will turn off most of the games this year at halftime. [Reply]

Josh Allen and Lamar were the ones we should've drafted out of that list.
We couldn't have drafted Pat Mahomes and Deshaun Watson because we drafted Paxton Lynch the year prior, and we would've had to move up ~ 10 spots in order to even have a chance to draft them.
Same thing with Herbert. We had just drafted Lock the year before and would've had to move up ~ 10 spots to get him. Elway LOVED Herbert and had he come out in 2019 he probably would've been a Bronco.
Drafting a QB just because he's there not only leads to a higher bust %, but you miss out on future elite QB's because you're hoping your premium pick from the year before pans out. [Reply]

Had Paxton Lynch shown you guys jackfuck crap? No.
Had Josh Rosen shown the Cardinals jackfuck crap? No.
One franchise went one way, one went the other. Passing on a guy specifically because "We have ______" is an Elwayshit excuse that franchises make. It's how the Cleveland Browns struck out on QBs for 2 decades because they were so intermittent with firing on a QB when they had the chance. [Reply]

So basically, Elway sucked at his job and has put the :-) in qb purgatory so as not to crush his little ego. Sounds about right [Reply]

Or don't be a dumbfuck and draft guys you're not sold on like Rosen and Paxton Lynch. Instead, draft a future All Pro corner and wait until a guy you like comes out and move heaven and earth to go get him. [Reply]
Lock was slated to be a first round pick, until rumors of the Broncos' interest. He fell, the Broncos' took him and rumors abound of the HC treating him like the crap he turned into. That team is a joke for a reason. [Reply]

Paton apparently loved Trey Lance. He waited for SF to move up for him instead of doing it himself.
That’s embarrassing bc the 49ers traded from 12 while Denver had the 9th pick.
Enjoy your shiny corner though. He isn’t moving the needle in games against us [Reply]

So Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Watson weren’t sellable to the Dungver FO? God their quarterback evaluation skills are worse than Chicago’s. And Chicago drafted the guy you could have just drafted. But you took a CB, with an already “deep roster” at that position. Drafting defense when you have to have a quarterback to even attempt to win the division. But you’re stuck in the same cycle of drafting a bust, then missing on a potential quarterback because you have to give the bust 2 years, then drafting another bust, rinse, repeat. I’m sure you’re sure holding out for AaRoN rOdGeRs Is GoNnA bE a DuNgKeY!! [Reply]

I think we were involved in that which is why the price was so high. If those Mac Jones rumors would've been a reality I think Denver would've moved up with Atlanta at #4 to get Trey Lance. [Reply]
