I know there are enough of us to participate in this thread, even when our seasons inevitably go to shit.
KSU vs Western Illinois today, tip-off at 3:00 pm.
One thing I noticed near the end of the game on Friday night - we had 5 true freshman on the court, and still played sound basketball. None of them were scrub walk-ons either. While I don't think we will make a serious run at anything this year, the foundation is being laid for a solid program in the future. [Reply]

Nice woman.
I have also spoken with a few of the players on that team that choked away the A&M conference title game.
They said nobody cared at the bowl game. It was national title or bust. Guys were out all night before the game, drunk, etc.
No wonder they lost.
Hard to blame them when they were jobbed out of any game of importance. I'd imagine they'd have found more energy for something like the Orange Bowl. [Reply]

Yea, they dropped to the Alamo Bowl and should have had NYD bowl IMO. But that was a bitter, crushing loss. I’ve got a VHS tape in the basement that I’ve never watched. [Reply]

I'll never forget where I was when they choked it away to AM.
KSU would have destroyed Tenn or FSU that year. Will never get over it. [Reply]

The longest final 7 minutes of my life, that 4th quarter. It was a glorious meltdown for sure. The only thing missing was somebody yelling “WE’RE GOING STREAKING THROUGH THE QUAD!!! CMON EVERYBODY”!!!
It was that bad. I can laugh about it now. But that day? Ooof. That one set me back a few days . [Reply]

You gotta be old enough to remember those were worn in the heyday of Jack Hartman the Big 8. Back to back conference champs and had back to back Big 8 POY.
