Last thread has well over 10,000 replies. Its body is breaking down like The Undertaker's. Seeing as we might have crossed the threshold into a new era in the business, here's a fresh new thread.

At least now performers can come out as gay and it's just not a big deal. Anthony Bowens of The Acclaimed is openly gay and you wouldn't know it if you didn't read it elsewhere. And then you have Effy, one of the top guys in the indies. He is flamboyantly gay and it's the core of his character and he gets huge pops all over the place because he is a great performer. Even 10 years ago that would not have been the case.

Very true. How Pat Patterson kept it hidden (or did he?) for decades is shocking. [Reply]

Undertaker may be next up for his role in that dumbass kangaroo court they ran back in the day and for being a genuine piece of shit when it comes to his "friend" Kanyon.
Once he came out as gay Undertaker legit beat the shit out of him on a Smackdown and smashed him with one of the most brutal chairshots I've ever seen. The reactions of Tazz and Heyman are telling. https://streamable.com/j9s2ri
Those are some violent chair shots. Might be worse than what the Acolytes did to Public Enemy. [Reply]

That was obviously a different time but I think Patterson being gay was a fairly open secret in the business but he was respected so it was kept quiet.

Violent chair shots were the norm in those days. I don't remember Undertaker taking it easy on other wrestlers with the chair. Or vice versa. [Reply]

Stevie Richards absolutely annihilated JBL around this same time. Revenge for JBL throwing potatoes at Blue Meanie at the One Night Stand PPV. I’m surprised JBL survived that one. [Reply]

Chair shots to the head were violent by nature. No way to do a headshot without it being violent. You can't just tap them in the head and make it look too fake and soft. Knowing what we know today about head injuries, it's a wonder they ever took shots to the head. [Reply]
Those shots were delivered much harder than necessary without letting the other guy get his hands up to at least mitigate some of the impact. It's why the Rock gets shit to this day for those unprotected shots delivered to Mick Foley. [Reply]

You must have never seen a Hulk Hogan chairshot, brother.
I still cringe when I see any Balls Mahoney chairshot from ECW. Especially when he used to dent chairs over Steve Corinos head.
Vince is probably having a meltdown today...AEW is running Arthur Ashe with a stacked card. It's sold out..and it's on the front page of the NY Daily news. [Reply]
