This is a massive hole that is filled for the #chiefs. Trent McDuffie is considered by almost everyone as the 3rd best CB in this draft. The first two went off the board at 3 and 4.
The @Chiefs make a big move for a top CB (and my model's #8 overall prospect) in Trent McDuffie, who allowed 3.1 yards/target in 2021 at Washington (best in FBS, min. 30 targets).
Could be a key piece to counter the wealth of receiving talent in the AFC come playoff time!
One of the best aspects about this kid is you’ll almost never hear about him in the offseason. I assure you he’s working on prepping for his specific matchups already in terms of film work, though. This kid was a pro in college. [Reply]
In about 2 weeks we will hear plenty. People need to understand that there is literally nothing worth a shit to talk about at this very moment. [Reply]

I'm thrilled we've heard nothing about him.
sometimes, nothing can be a real cool hand. [Reply]
I think McDuffie was perceived as this high floor guy because he wasn't as physically gifted as other corners. "Short arms and under 6 foot!" Okay, but did you see his high and broad jump? Tyreek Hill for being a midget sure did win his fair share of contested coverage situations for the Chiefs, didn't he?
Same with Karlaftis. I think a loooot of teams were idiots who thought he was a 2nd round grade because he had short arms. Veach doesn't care, though, because while longer arms certainly helps, as long as you're top notch with hand placement and fighting, that's something an edge rusher can overcome.
The majority of the top echelon of the NFL is made up of players who had a couple question marks during the scouting process. And some of them (many of them) had a LOT of question marks during the scouting process. Veach is concerned with finding the things those players do really well and putting faith in drive and work ethic. I think that's why his success rate for draft picks has been pretty damn good the past two years.
Just keep doing that while we have an elite QB, and we're fine no matter who gets traded or retires or whatever. [Reply]
