And the other idiot, hes saying we just need to get healthy. Being 1.5 games out of 1st dont mean shit in our division.
Mr. Mo, you really think we can beat the likes of the Braves, Phillies, LA, Orioles, Yankees etc. if only we are healthy? I hope he doesn't really believe that, but maybe he does. :-) [Reply]

He knows he doesn't have to believe it, he just has to make you believe it. All the best con artists rely on it. [Reply]

Yeah - the NL is a shitshow. 2 truly awful teams, 3 genuinely good ones and the remaining 2/3 of the league is just completely forgettable mediocrity. [Reply]
Like the streak we are on but I feel this is more of being ahead in the ketchup, mustard, and relish race than feeling the Cards are on a sustained roll. [Reply]

They're a team w/ roughly .500 talent. 85 wins if they stay healthy all season but they won't (and haven't).
And .500 teams tend to hover around .500. We regressed to the mean (progressed?) to get back to level, but that's just the law of large numbers at work.
They'll be within a game or two of .500 either way. And every time they win 4 of 5, they'll lose 5 of 7 and over the course of any 12-14 game stretch they'll be a roughly .500 ballclub.
That's why it just doesn't make sense to view any series at all as being meaningful. When it's all said and done, they'll be roughly .500. Because that's all they made any effort to be.
They get to a game over - immediately lose 2 in a row to the damn Marlins. Wonder of fucking wonders, a .500 team can't seem to get away from the .500 mark.
This team is exactly what many of us think it is. It's just mediocre as hell. And it's going to continue to be mediocre all season. No 10-12 game sample of extremely good (or even extremely bad) play will change that.

These guys are just...there.
Imagine how bad their record would be if 40% of the league wasn’t actively trying to lose. [Reply]
His actions when viewed through unbiased lens would state otherwise. Seems like you love mediocre and being long shots in any playoff series. Championship :-) bunch of BS. [Reply]
