At the end of the day, this game says what we are. You can't blame this on effort or being lazy. Yes Mayo didn't play well but Hunter Griffen KJ did. We dominated the boards and points in the paint. We didn't really have foul trouble impact us, while it hurt them fairly significantly. We even got a rare second chance at a blown call at the end. And yet we lost. They just made more plays and beat us.
Can we beat anyone? Sure. But so can any NCAA tournament team. You can't judge our season on 1-2 wins and say that's who we are. We have far more of these losses than big wins. It is what it is at this point. We are a 6-10 seed and who knows what will happen in the tournament, but there isn't anything to suggest we can go on a deep run.
That's an understatement. If Diggy Coit takes all of his minutes (in which Zeke went 1 for 7 with 5 turnovers with horrific defense), they probably win that game with how good KJ/HD were.
They've showed as a team when they play well that their ceiling is quite a bit higher than what they'll be seeded (I don't see them dropping below a 6 btw, losses to Tech/Houston/Zona won't hurt their overall resume at all) but with their execution in late and close situations it is hard to imagine anything better than a 2nd round exit. They'll lose to the first team they play that's on their level or better. [Reply]

Yeah, despite the atrocious offensive possessions at the end (which like you said, it's just who they are), this loss is easy to shrug off in the grand scheme of things... I fully expected it to get out of hand in the 2nd half and to their credit, they got back into it and had chances to tie it at the end.
They could be ranked in the top 10 right now and a loss like that wouldn't have raised major red flags or sounded alarms. :-) [Reply]
I’ll give them credit today, they were trying like hell, but tech just had more talent than we did. I don’t think there is a single nba player on this team. We’re in the position “now” that Iowa st, Texas, Oklahoma, okie st were in trying to beat us in the 20-teens when we could win without trying because we had overwhelming talent. The transfer portal combined with NIL dollars has leveled the playing field to a point that is detrimental to KU. [Reply]

Flory is a NBA player. Doesn't play in the games though [Reply]

You’re right. I meant as of today. He should be ready for the nba next year, but I suppose some agents will get in his ear and give him terrible advice to leave early. [Reply]
