Nzoner's Game Room>Space Exploration megathread
DaFace 09:40 AM 06-01-2014
Since a number of cool things are happening in space exploration these days, we'll widen the scope of this thread a smidge. Conversation about all things space exploration are welcome, whether it be from NASA, SpaceX, ULA, Blue Origin, or anyone else. Chances are most of the discussion will still be about SpaceX since they love to make things public and fun, but nothing's off limits. I'll eventually get around to modifying the OP to include resources for other companies too, but in the meantime, feel free to post any cool stuff you run across.

Kind of crazy if we have two launches in a row that hold but still go. We haven't had many launches with long windows recently.

Cool views of boost back from the tracking camera. Fairly mundane aside from that, especially because they didn't cover the second stage at all (classified mission).

Interesting. Managed to get the package in orbit and do a booster land landing, eh?

What's the opinion on alternatives to rockets to get to space? Was reading some things about interesting alternatives:

Shot from a helicopter:

I love watching the Falcon 9 fly through it’s own exhaust and heat distortion on landing https://t.co/Cz6JkJ93Vp

Have we heard if SN9 is another hop?

Yes, the speculation is that it will replicate the SN8 flight hopefully sans the RUD. Could be within a few weeks, but nothing confirmed. They'll do a pressure test and static fire first, of course.
