Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

Hell, Sam Bradford threw more TDs and less int's than AS.

Sports are a passing fancy for most people.
Kansas City is a lot smaller than those places, and Mahomie isn't a random third round pick. He's the most significant draft selection in over 30 years.

It's embarrassing.
Just because some random guy at a dungeons and dragons party had on a Chiefs hat, that doesn't make him an informed Chiefs fan. [Reply]

It was literally a woman who attends Chiefs games.
She told me they were a "social event" for her, though.

No, it's not.
How many people have heard of Ashe Russell?
You live in a sports world bubble and that's cool.
But don't expect most people to live there, too. [Reply]

Really?!?! And you think that's odd? My wife and I have had season tickets for eight years. She wouldn't know who Patrick Mahomes is if he walked into our back yard and shit in the pool. Most female NFL fans don't watch the draft and don't identify players until they've established themselves as legitimate NFL stars. [Reply]

WOW you don't get it do you.
Most people that attend professional sports games are not there because of the deepness of their fandom, but rather their status whether that is in the community or for some other status related reason.
Most pro games that I have been to more people are socializing than paying attention to the actual game. It is aggravating sometimes because they are interrupting your ability to enjoy and catch every aspect of the game. They don't actually care about the game as much because they are there every game every year. They know they can catch it on the replay or highlights later.
It is sad in some ways but that is the reality for far too many "fans". [Reply]
Couldn't beat out Blaine freaking Gabbert, who has a job, while Kaepernick doesn't.
Kaepernick... now THERE'S an example of a guy whose team must have held him back last year with his cunning 16-4 numbers in 12 games!!!He must have been dealing with a whole heap of locker room distractions last year!!! :-) [Reply]
