However you label it, it's pretty damn clear that they were hoping to play FSU rather than Alabama (as they should have been).
Of course they would rather play hapless FSU. Bama was a great matchup and showed that the committee largely got it right.

Agreed. That was one of the best SFs we've seen in years and it is entirely because they didn't feel compelled to go with the team that allegedly "deserved" it the most.
