Lock seems like he might be the perfect Denver QB, for KC fans. He has them right in that Mark Castle sweet spot of winning just enough games to keep them out of position to draft his replacement. Every W from here on out is just another drop of 1-4 draft spots and increases the chances they give him another year. [Reply]

He’s not good enough they’ll move on.
But as long as Elway's drafting obviously who cares.

Denver won't be in position for Lawrence or Fields.
That leaves a reclamation project. IF they get a QB whisperer coach, they totally should load up the QB room with young guys that still could have upside. [Reply]

The good QB whisperers are rare. Hell, let alone the good ones... to just get a competent one you've still probably got only a 50/50 shot.
Pat Shurmur is a supposed QB whisperer. He still might be. But he's a terrible head coach, and thus far his complicated crap he's been doling out hasn't placed his guy (Lock) in any better position to succeed than he had last year.
Ben McAdoo was a bust. Gruden touted himself as a QB whisperer early in his career and it's been proven that he doesn't know what the hell he's doing. I still think Matt Nagy is a QB whisperer (he did everything he could to put Trubisky in positions to succeed and squeezed the most out of him that he could) but he's wearing out his welcome as a head coach.
Does anybody think Zac Taylor is a QB whisperer? Not me. What was he doing with Burrow that was all that special and that Burrow wouldn't have been doing if it weren't for Taylor? How have his other QBs fared? Yeah, they have significantly less talent, but is he at least simplifying things and getting them to keep the team steady? And if they're Tyler Palko-level bad and have no hope of doing that, then why are they on the team? Shouldn't the QB whisperer head coach have seen that coming and picked out ANYBODY else?
And let's not forget-- Elway is in charge of that process. He can't pick QBs for shit and he can't pick head coaches for shit, so it's reasonable to assume he's incapable of hiring a QB whisperer coach. As head coach OR assistant. [Reply]

Pick away.
Doesn't take much to limit QB draft options, Cassel eeked out just enough wins to keep that potential replacement just out of reach. I think we missed Matt Ryan and Tannehill by 2-3 picks each due to a trash win from Castle. Not that I mind, any and all mistakes leading to Mahomes are forgiven.
I'm honored to have received one of your 1200 posts btw. :-)
I agree as long as Johnny Highball is in charge it really doesn't matter. [Reply]
