No, it really cannot and will not get any worse than that. The Chiefs had 1 legitimate drive the entire day on Sunday. The rest was just short field stuff that we can't count on most weeks.
We had FIFTEEN drives on Sunday and got 21 points. Araiza had nine punts. A terrible team punts 5 teams most games. On average you're looking at about 3.5/gm.
I mean the floor CAN'T be much lower than the shit-fest we saw on Sunday. So no, I have a hard time believing we'll be any worse with Wentz.
The offense wasn’t efficient in this game, but it’s disingenuous to act like that was the norm. They’ve been far more efficient on average. And as underwhelming as it were, if Butker doesn’t miss a chip shot, and Hopkins secures the ball before the nose grazes the ground, they’d have put 31 on the board.
Adding Hollywood and upgrading LT could have a big impact going forward, and I fully expect to see Mahomes at his best when the stakes increase. Like always. [Reply]

I never used the the word rest in my post.
Yeah so if he's cleared physically to play you would essentially bench Mahomes for a game and then think four days later he is going to have a big mental change? [Reply]

Not scared of anything.
Just not ignoring the fact that Carson Wentz hasn't played good football in years and looked like he was completely broken the last time he did. [Reply]

The #1 seed is the #1 priority, I can guarantee you that's what Andy thinks and Mahomes thinks it too. It's the most direct route back to the Super Bowl and they have complete control of it. All they have to do is win two very winnable games.
Well then, we're kind of fucked, aren't we? If that happens - if Pat gets a week off to heal and comes back and still stinks, then it is what it is. There's no way in hell Reid is going to bench the two-time defending Super Bowl MVP no matter how bad he plays. And nobody (including me) would expect him to. [Reply]

All I'm saying is that there are no guarantees except one - if they lose to the Texans, the road to the three-peat gets a lot harder.
If Pat's ankle gets cleared, there's no reason to sit him. [Reply]
There is no risk to Mahomes, any more than any other game.
It seems to me that the goal should be to play less games. The surest way to do that is get the #1 seed.
The counter argument doesnt even make sense unless you assume the chances of Mahomes getting hurt are actually much higher than they actually are.
Difference is….
He already IS hurt. Chance of re-aggravating and is much higher than any other game.
The fact this has to be explained to you is mind boggling lol.
He’s hurt, high ankle sprain mild or not isn’t good. You rest hurt players, especially ones that mean your season is over. As someone also pointed out to you Saturdays game doesn’t matter as much as a playoff game does.
Most would agree that Mahomes in the playoffs we have as good a chance as anyone, if not the best no matter the seeding. No Mahomes in the playoffs means we have no shot. [Reply]

Sorry dude. If they clear him, he's going to play. Get the Kleenex. [Reply]

Winning two out of three is like winning a playoff game because it eliminates a playoff game. So this weeks game is pretty much as important as a playoff game. It's even bigger than a playoff game if we win these next two games because Mahomes will have three weeks until kickoff to rest, heal and get ready. This is the biggest game to date this season so if Mahomes is cleared he'll play. [Reply]

He's going to re-aggravate it no matter what. These things take a couple months to fully heal. Play him now, secure the bye, then rest him up a bit before it matters. [Reply]

So he looked like shit with the Rams in 2023? He was 1-0 163 yards. 2/1 with a 99.8 rating
2022 Washington he was 2-5 (but it IS Washington) 1755 yards 11/9 with a 80.2 rating Rivera was his coach
2021 Colts he was 9-8 3563 yards 27/7 with a 94.6 rating
And you’re absolutely scared. Scared of the Broncos, scared of having to go to Buffalo (which you assume will win their game, despite their defense being absolute ass), scared of not getting the bye. Your posts reek of being scared. [Reply]
