Johnson plays like Hollywood was supposed to be utilized here and we had interest in him in the off-season. Cooper plays similarly to Rice.
You rebuild your WR room on the fly with the talent to effectuate the same plan you've had fall apart around you.
And fuck 'waiting until the deadline' - pull the trigger as soon as you can get to 'yes'. Give them time to get up to speed.
If a 3rd and 4th in some fashion can get those deals done, I'm down for it for sure. If it means a 3rd for Cooper and a 6th, then a 4th and that 6th for Johnson - neat, done.
But if there's any way to get those guys without using a 1st or 2nd, I'm on board with grabbing BOTH guys. Because I'm not sure only getting one of them even moves the needle a ton for us. [Reply]

Moore doesn't know where to go once the ball is snapped, but being ineffective is better than screwing plays up and burning TOs or taking procedure penalties because you're simply lost before the snap.
Ross had a MASSIVE opportunity and a wide open window to make this team. He blew it.
I don't see much utility in bringing him back. But if the team likes his physicality in Rice's role...okay. Whatever. I suspect they'll dust off as much of the 2022 playbook as JuJu is presently capable of handling and go from there. [Reply]

I advocated for patience last year. I said many times that I would bet on Veach to hit on one of three swings minimum - and he did! I said if he hits one we'll be okay - and we won the Superbowl. You're hoping you hit on two, but Rice was the only hit.
You use hindsight to accuse the organization of intentionally giving Mahomes subpar support and it's bullshit.
Worthy looks like a hit this year. They signed Brown and had Rice-that SHOULD have been a great WR corps. Probably the best we've ever had. But injuries happen. It's hard to win a Superbowl. It's near impossible to win two in a row. Three straight has NEVER been done. There's a reason for that.
You're absolutely full of shit AGAIN.
It’s not hindsight because some of us called out before last season. It wasn’t intentionally giving subpar support but it was an unnecessarily big risk. Even if it worked out it fucked up mahomes. Of course rotating the wr rotation every single game and using the season to evaluate almost every single wr in the rotation is going to mess a qb up. There is adversity, but that is almost unheard of when supporting a legendary qb.
Ok the past is the past but it isn’t for you because you’re insistent that we repeat the same mistakes and then just casually say mahomes needs to just deal with it because shit happens. We had a great offseason and we had bad luck with injuries. That is not our fault this time. But we can adapt instead of forcing mahomes to just deal with bad cards. But you want to just macguyver this rotation by replacing rashee with juju as if that’s the magic fix because it worked 2 years ago. If we can make a move, we should. It should be a rental but we need to be active buyers and not just wait for something to come to us. Because that move is not just about championships, it is to help us with our top 5 priorities all of which revolve around getting mahomes right in the head. [Reply]

I don't know if the Browns can afford to trade Amari because of that void money... unless they extend Deshaun and push money down the road on him.
The browns are sellers. I’m sure they’d rather wait til closer to the deadline but this season is looking like a lost cause. After this season they’re screwed. So their choice is to pay Amari to be on their roster for a really bad team or just take the dead money and collect picks.its the Kyler Murray situation on triple steroids. Their focus should be on tanking and stockpiling picks so they can have a team locked and loaded as soon as they’re out of hell. If I’m the browns I spent the next 2-3 years shedding contracts and being singularly focused on paying as much dead money off as quickly as possible.
The bigger question is if Amari would go to a team like the chiefs as a rental. [Reply]
While I'm sure Veach will be lighting up phones across the league, I can't help but feel all the names mentioned in this thread are pie in the sky scenarios.
Or, they just flat out aren't better (right now) than what we have.
Teams aren't going to go out of their way to help us out. Not to mention, as much as we want something to happen NOW, most trades don't happen until close to the deadline.
The good news is that thanks to the early bye week, we only have three more games until the deadline. [Reply]

With what, exactly? What exactly do you think is available that solves everything? Real life isn't Madden. I'm sure if there's an opportunity to get better, Veach will take it.
There's no game changer coming because it's not available. It takes a certain situation, and then the other team has to be willing to deal, and it has to be worth the squeeze for KC, too.
More than likely, we're looking at the team we'll finish with, barring a Hollywood return late, and Omenihu. [Reply]

The big question is how much would we have to give for him. [Reply]

I’m more concerned with if he wants to play with us as a prove it since he’s already getting paid. Or if he will insist on a long term deal. I feel good enough with our weapons when healthy that I’d rather a 1 year rental than pay anyone of this caliber long term [Reply]
If we don't make a trade for a wide receiver I've heard of, I'll swallow a live grenade and do a belly flop from the top of the President Hotel!!! [Reply]
