Elway hasn't learned his lesson. He still thinks his farts don't smell.

There is no "allure" to playing in Denver, but he thinks there is all because Peyton Manning said yes to him nearly a DECADE ago.

He thinks he's Belichick. He thinks he can say to players, "This is my offer, and you should take it because that means you GET to play for the Denver Broncos."

Denver is going to have to re-think that mantra. It's going to take money to attract players to come play for you now. There will be no more lowballing free agents and guys looking for extensions.

Elway can let his good players walk, and that's a legit strategy, but if he thinks his draft record is good enough to keep replacing them with cheap young talent, he's got another thing coming.
