Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]
Every now and then I get sad that it isn't football season. Well almost all of the time I'm sad it isn't football season...but then I go watch our SB highlights and check this thread again and I'm just so happy!
Goddamn it feels good to be a Chiefs fan. We are watching the best football player ever QB our favorite team! And I think he's got another 13 years in him!! [Reply]

That's my exact sentiment. Ain't no one close to this organization or Patrick talking to that stupid ass idiot. [Reply]

One of Brady’s biggest strengths was his otherworldly durability. That was a huge reason for his stats. Mahomes can pass him in everything if he continues down this path. [Reply]
Mahomes is 8th in postseason TD passes. He only needs 11 to move into 2nd. He could reasonably accomplish that before he’s 30 which is amazing.
Of course he’d still be a long ways off from Tom who has 88 but he’d have plenty of time to beat it.
I really want him to get to 100 passing postseason TD’s and also for Kelce to pass Jerry Rice as the postseason leader in yards and TD’s. Kelce is currently 2nd all time in that stat and 6 TD’s and 697 yards behind Rice. [Reply]

That's insane. Barring injury, Kelce could absolutely annihilate Rice's postseason records. [Reply]

Mahomes would need about 7 or 8 more postseasons at his current pace to beat 88 TDs. That's definitely doable for him.
I'm not looking into the stats for Kelce but I do remember that his numbers are actually better in the postseason so he'd probably only need another 4 or 5 years to beat Rice. I think Kelce will be 34 this coming season so that will be tough. It'll take a lot of luck. [Reply]

It's crazy to think that KC always being the #1 seed hurts Mahomes numbers some. If he got 3-4 playoff games a year he would catch Brady much faster. Granted playing one fewer playoff game is better from an overall standpoint. [Reply]

He also had Montana and Young for the majority of his 49ers career which makes a difference.
If Kelce had Patrick his first 3 years this record might already be broken
I think Kelce will still be able to pass both of Rice's records as his biggest strength is finding holes in the defense. It's not freak athleticism. That will age well. I honestly think he has a better shot of breaking Rice's playoff records than Gonzalez's regular season yards record. [Reply]

Eh, I think you'd just be trading a Wild Card game for a Super Bowl or Championship game in a lot of seasons, though.
Plus, Brady and the Pats pretty much locked up the #1 or #2 seed every year for nearly 20 years also. [Reply]
