Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

Extremely thin line between winning and losing in the NFL. Look at the Colts. That team had a good enough roster to beat the Chiefs and damn near beat the Eagles. Yet the Colts had a pretty bad record on the season. New coaching staff for 2023 and who knows how that will go for them.
The Colts didn't have the roster to beat KC, KC literally fucking beat KC, not the Colts.
Holy hell dude any given Sunday does not = a contender.
There are 3 contenders in the AFC right now. KC, Cincy, and Buffalo with the Jags getting there. [Reply]

The NFL pulls anything they don't put out that shows more than 5 seconds (I think) of continuous highlights. That video is from Turning Point but for some reason doesn't have the watermark.

But in b4 DJ's "**** Florio".
No that’s actually exactly what he said. He said he thinks Mahomes has a duty like Peyton Manning to take as much as he can and then it’s up to the Chiefs to manage the cap.

Did you even listen to the clip?
I heard it about 30 minutes ago on my lunch break.
His entire point has nothing to do with the Chiefs in particular. He's arguing that players should seek every dollar they can because they have a very, very limited opportunity to do so and owners can pull the plug on them whenever they want. Players have a chance to make millions while owners are reaping in billions.
He's not wrong in that assessment.
Where both he and Chris missed (surprisingly) is that the money not paid to Mahomes isn't just put into the owner pockets, it's distributed to players such as Kelce and Jones etc. I waited for Chris to hit Florio with that rebuttal but it never came.
And Florio is also not wrong in saying that it's not Mahomes' job to manage and draft. Veach and Reid etc are paid millions every year.
Mahomes is chasing legacy. He's in a unique situation. So he takes a pay cut. He's going for greatest of all time, not just get paid and retire. But for every other damn player, they'd be a fool to not chase the bag. [Reply]
Is a billion dollars enough? Because when Mahomes retires, he'll be a billionaire. Why isn't it possible that Mahomes is happy financially and (as he has said) wants the organization to be able to keep a good team around him so they can compete year in and year out? Florio is a dumbass [Reply]

I agree with the management vs labor argument.
What I take issue with is the idea that Mahomes should be criticized for not taking more money. It’s none of Florio’s damn business what Mahomes wants to do with his money or how much he wants to make.
If other QBs are getting screwed because Mahomes is leaving money on the table then maybe they should get better so they have the kind of leverage Pat currently has when it comes to dictating the market.
But Pat’s contract and his bag and how he chooses to allocate his money around the roster is no one’s business but his own. [Reply]
