Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

I want 6 rings from him. That would give the Chiefs 7 overall and the most by any franchise. Plus it would be more than the rest of the AFCW combined. [Reply]

**** yeah
Mahomes probably has 10 elite years left. In those 10 how many super bowls does he go to and then how many does he win.

I'll absolutely settle for 5, though!
4 kinda feels like the floor, which would be absolutely fine with me.
I don’t know what the ceiling is, but it’s fucking high. 7 would be incredible, but maybe not all that surprising. Which feels weird to say. [Reply]

This dude has won 2 so quickly and been so close on 3 other occasions (only stopped by a horrifically bad defense/coin flip, OL injuries, and a bizarre second half collapse), that 3 really seems low to me. You look at the state of the AFC as the other great QBs need to get paid and the lack of elite QBs in the NFC, and it’s hard to imagine how many he could win.
I don’t see a QB ever touching Brady’s 7, but could he win 5? I think 5 might be my current guess. And it’s just crazy how realistic that feels.
It’s really hard to win 1 ring. All 7 rings for Brady featured razor thin margins of victory in playoff games, sometimes due to great defense or the refs helping him. You need the team to stay healthy all the way to the end, as we saw with the OL injuries for KC in 2020 or the Cincy OL injuries this season. Chiefs won 2 of 3 playoff games this season by razor thin margin.
For now I am just going to enjoy this one because who knows if they will be fortunate enough to win another one. The injury luck aspect makes it kind of silly to speculate on future stuff. I think about how the Patriots won 3 rings very early in Brady’s career, but they did not win another ring for 10 years. Extremely hard to get it done. [Reply]

But, every decade there's been one team that's won at least 3 in the same decade. I think we're this decade's dynasty.

Our floor is 3.
Who knows. Big Ben’s Steelers won 2 rings before his 27th birthday. He never won another ring even though he was a better QB later in his career. [Reply]

The Chiefs will win at least one more at worst. [Reply]

They won both the conference title & Super Bowl by the thinnest margin possible this season. Who knows how the future will play out. Ton of very talented teams in the AFC who will be standing in the way to make it to another Super Bowl. [Reply]

The Bengals gave me a scare but I think the Chiefs will knock them back at least temporarily and as for Buffalo until they go to a SB or win one I don’t see them as a threat. [Reply]

I don’t think the Cincy game would have been as close if all of the injuries don’t happen. [Reply]

It’s not just those 2 teams. Jaguars are going to keep getting better. Miami now has a legit defensive coordinator. Jets have a strong defense and might get Aaron Rodgers to drastically improve their QB situation. The AFC West teams have plenty of talent on paper and we will see if they can reach their potential. I would not sleep on Cleveland, Pittsburgh, or Baltimore as well. [Reply]

I say he goes to 5 and wins 3 more
He's going to play for another 20 at least, Bronze will be groomed as his replacement along with one of Reid's Grandkids for HC...And one of Blart Vatch's kids for GM. We are totally set. [Reply]

Even if those teams improve it will take them 2 to 3 years to reach the Chiefs level and that’s if they get there. [Reply]

It's not like the Chiefs are beating everyone by 20 points. Far from it. They had a ton of close victories in 2022. Jaguars are not that far off. They lost by 7 points in the playoff game, and it featured a very silly Jaguar fumble right when they were about to score a TD.
Extremely thin line between winning and losing in the NFL. Look at the Colts. That team had a good enough roster to beat the Chiefs and damn near beat the Eagles. Yet the Colts had a pretty bad record on the season. New coaching staff for 2023 and who knows how that will go for them. [Reply]
