They are good and tough, noon game at Arrowhead. Your thoughts?

I've said it all along and I'll keep saying it. Give Pat a breather, let him get right, or if nothing else a little less wrong, and see what Wentz can do. I'm not suggesting we bench him. There is no quarterback controversy here. I'd rather have a fresh Mahomes playing on Christmas in Pittsburgh, not an even more beat up Mahomes playing on four days rest.

But I fear Pat will probably play if he's physically able. And I don't think it will bode well. I kind of feel like Longstreet telling Lee not to attack the center.
What if Pat takes a week off and doesn't get better? What if the supporting cast doesn't improve? It's all hypothetical. We could sit here and play what if all day.

The #1 seed is the #1 priority, I can guarantee you that's what Andy thinks and Mahomes thinks it too. It's the most direct route back to the Super Bowl and they have complete control of it. All they have to do is win two very winnable games.

When did I say that? I'm not speaking in absolutes.

Once again completely misrepresenting what was said.

They have a greater chance to win with Mahomes, agreed? Where the disagreement lies is how far that chance drops with Carson Wentz. People are acting like Wentz starting is no big deal, or even that it's a good thing. People want them to rest Pat regardless of whether he's cleared to play or not.

If this team goes out and gets beat by the Texans because they started Wentz even though Mahomes was cleared to play, they're absolutely moronic.

Mahomes is going to play this week and be fine in time for the playoffs.

You're crying about something that isn't at all likely to happen.

A reset could really REALLY help. Not just physically.

Again, I don't think a hobbled Mahomes is more likely to win that game than a healthy Wentz. Not THIS version of Mahomes anyway.
Do you honestly think if they bench a cleared Mahomes when the team is 2 games away from the #1 seed and nearly 3 weeks of rest it will "unfuck" him?

Fuck no, it won't. He'll be fucking livid.

Competitors don't take take it easy when the end goal is this close.

Andy and Patrick will find a way and deal with the fallout.

My guess is the line moves once Mahomes is confirmed as the starter.
I’m sure it will, but they’re giving the public lots of time to hammer this line.

I don't think he has any idea how mentally fried he is.

That's when his coach needs to step in. He was livid when Andy made him get an X-Ray as well - he got over it.

He's his own worst enemy right now. By a TON.

The kid gloves aren't going to do him a bit of good. The more I think about it, the more I have a preference.

I'd sit him. Livid or not, he isn't going to be able to win a championship wound this tight. I'm watching Sam Darnold work in the pocket SUBSTANTIALLY better than Mahomes tonight. Still missing passes, but he's standing in there in the swarm and delivering the football. I've seen at least 3 plays tonight where Mahomes would've bailed and gotten himself hit. Darnold stood pat and throws the ball.

If Darnold is comparing favorably to a guy with Mahomes talent in any way, something is amiss.

Patriots upset Bills. Christmas off!
While certainly a bit of a long shot, I refuse to rule this possibility out. Divisional games can be unpredictable, and we’ve certainly seen that in the AFC East over the years. You also cannot rule out Buffalo’s ability to pull a choke job. And coming off their big game in Detroit is as good a time as any for them to come out flat or overly cocky.

And THAT is why you start Patrick this week, in hopes that you don’t have to start him - annd anyone else you don’t want to - on four days rest.

This is EXACTLY the sort of game that the Belichick Patriots would've won in years past.

I just don't see Mayo getting these guys up for it.

We shall see.

So he's going to have a substantial mental change with four extra days? Or do you plan on sitting him against Pitts too?

Sam Darnold has only been sacked 1 time and hit from the left side twice. He’s also got in sane talent everywhere.

Cam Robinson. Gotta be this franchises #1 priority this Spring. The guy is just a solid pass protecting LT

It is by no means the odds on favorite outcome, and likely a pipe dream on my part, yet it is Buffalo. And Allen has been too hot anyway, he is due for a 3-4 turn over game.

People are acting like Will Levis didn’t light up the Texans a few weeks ago. You guys are as scared of the Texans and Broncos as you are the Bills.

It's not just rest.

It's seeing it from a different chair.
