Nzoner's Game Room>Pro Bowl LT DJ Humphries Medically Cleared [signed by Chiefs]
SHOWTIME 09:18 AM Yesterday
Does Veach give him a call?

I predict @Chiefs. Makes too much sense https://t.co/hu5xdI5KF2

Even in his prime, he wasn’t Eric Fisher.

Basically we’d need him to bounce back really well from the ACL AND it be a really nice scheme fit to turn into a longer term solution.

I remember doing a scouting report on DJ back in 2019, based on 2018 film, and he was a better run blocker than pass blocker at that time.

Unless they still believe Kingsley can get there in 2025-2026, I hope they swing bigger at LT.
What is the easiest position to come off of an ACL? Maybe Oline? You aren't exactly cutting and changing direction all that much. Guys sometimes come back from ACL even better these days. Such a common injury.

I’ve read it’s actually harder than the skill positions.

Think of a few guys lately who have never been the same. David Bahktiari. Taylor Lewan.

It’s no slam dunk but hopefully his surgery and rehab was done a lot better.

Lewan sued his Dr bc he thought the ACL surgery was not in any way successful and ruined his career. Bahktiari Seems to be an outlier. His timeline was similar as DJ and he came back from the ACL in November but seemed to have trouble throughout his recovery with fluid in his knee and lingering knee pain. Doesn’t seem like that is happening to DJ. He was cleared with apparently no issues.

Plenty of OL who recovered from this though. Marshall Yanda and Maurkice Pouncey came back and had 3 pro bowl seasons each.

Doesn’t seem like he’ll be ready until around when brown is tho. Right before playoffs

Yes, a few weeks before the playoffs, exactly when we need them, dipshit.

I think the free humps are getting overlooked here. We have a center who says I don’t charge for my humps! Team player right there. Now you add an above average LT when healthy. Plus he too does not charge for humps. Like Creed D.J. humps for free. Let that sink in. So unselfish to have two guys like that blocking for Pat

Not sure how good dj is but he appears to be the first finesse lt we’ve had since fisher.

I read the same thing. Apparently, playing OT puts a ton of stress on the knee, torque-wise.

Chad Henne - QB - A - Henne-thing is possible - when he was in he was money.
Xavier Williams - DT - C+ ( 2 yrs, 2.5 sacks) Solid contributor on the D-line.
Orlando Scandrick - CB - C+ ( 1 yr, 1 INT, 7 Games started) Lost starting job to Chavarious Ward.
Damian Williams - RB - A - (2 yrs, 12 TDs, 1,127 yards) Solid contributor in a RBBC with Ware, Hunt, Darrell Williams and Charcandrick West.

2019:

Damien Wilson - LB - C+ - (2 yrs, 1.5 sacks)
LeSean McCoy - RB - B - (1 yr, 5 TDs, 646 yards) Valuable contributor during the regular season, ball security issues led to him being a healthy scratch during the post-season

2020:
Mike Remmers - OT - C - Versatile swing tackle that got beat up badly in SB LV in place of Eric Fisher, finished his Chiefs career on the IR in 2021.
Antonio Hamilton - CB - C- - (1 yr) - primarily a reserve
Rickey Seals-Jones - TE - F - (1 yr) - Never saw any action, was 4th TE buried behind Deion Yelder and Nick Keizer.
DeAndre Washington - RB - F - (1 yr) - Never really contributed was released and signed to practice squad. Elevated to active roster later but never really did anything
Le'veon Bell - RB - C - (1 yr, 2 TDs, 353 yards) Little used...something didn't click with him and Andy.

2021:
Joe Thuney - OG - A+ - Solid starter at LG that has made the interior of the Chiefs OL a concrete wall.
Kyle Long - OG - F - Long shot at resurrecting his career never played a down, thankfully Trey Smith didn't look back.
Austin Blythe - OC - C - Veteran insurance that was never needed as Creed Humphrey took the job from day 1.

Chiefs need to get that all important bye week for the post season. I think that’s a huge key for us.

Damian Williams agent really screwed him for asking to much. Williams could have easily been the Super Bowl mvp. His stat line for his last Super Bowl was unreal.

This signing will probably be helpful. So far this season, the LTs have often missed blocks, and Mahomes has been hit while looking for a receiver.
