Nzoner's Game Room>Hollywood Brown [needs surgery - going to IR]
Dante84 08:23 PM 08-10-2024

Hollywood Brown has the same injury that Tyreek Hill suffered in Jacksonville back in 2019, Andy Reid said. He’s at the hospital being checked out.

Story from the 2019 Tyreek injury: https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2019/...nt-dislocation

Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, who suffered a dislocation of his sternoclavicular shoulder joint Saturday night, was discharged from a Jacksonville-area hospital this morning and now has been cleared to return to Kansas City.

#Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is expected to miss four to six weeks with the sternoclavicular injury he suffered, per multiple sources. Opening night is three weeks from this Thursday night.

The latest:

Sources: The #Chiefs are placing WR Marquise "Hollywood" Brown on IR, and he will undergo surgery to repair his dislocated SC joint. After multiple imaging studies, it was determined that, although Hollywood felt better, his injury was not healing correctly. Without corrective… pic.twitter.com/xtRRMvmseq

What’s accidental about football players getting hurt playing football? It literally happens multiple times every game (preseason or regular season).

Exposing anyone of real value to more football in meaningless games is a completely needless risk and always has been. It’s the same reason Andy benches starters at the end of the regular season once the team has clinched.

Sounds like it’s an adjustment correction and not a full repair so he could play in the playoffs unless some crazy shit happens.

I'm hearing that Hollywood Brown will be out months and not weeks. The timeline looks more like 3 months than just the minimum 4 week stay on the IR.

What's the difference between a player getting hurt in preseason and a player getting hurt in week 1?

If anything, getting hurt earlier gives you more time to recover and get back into the season. Just play if youre healthy and get ready for the season.

It's called getting ready for real games. It has value, and also risk. We see a bunch of teams look like crap in September, losing games that they probably shouldn't. Meanwhile the Chiefs are ready to go, and generally seem to stay healthier than a lot of other teams overall.

It was a freak injury dude. The Rams didn’t play anybody in preseason and lost their starting C and WR (Puka) for maybe months.

Shit happens

Hardman can run the deep routes to keep them honest. Do the gadget plays. That'll help.
