Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill was detained by police today entering the stadium for a driving violation, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus. But Rosenhaus said Hill will play today.

There are also plenty of videos of innocent people getting railroaded by abuse of power. Officers need leeway to protect their own safety but escalating conflict doesn't do that. Creating mistrust doesn't do that. It has created an environment that has led to too much retaliation.

I don't think barely anyone is saying tyreek isnt partially in the wrong here. But most agree that the actions taken by the officer went beyond what was necessary. If you feel your rights have been violated, there has been a notoriously awful track record of accountability for offending officers which is why a few bad apples continue to spoil it for the majority doing great work for the community. The idea that they can get away with a ton to enforce compliance is exactly the reason to watchdog the use of power.

Do not forget that just a few months ago Scottie scheffler was falsely accused of multiple misdemeanors and even a felony for assaulting an officer. The only reason he was cleared was because someone taped it and who knows what direction this would have taken if not for the random passerby catching this on video. Which likely only saw the light of day because tyreek is famous.

Also notice how many cars the cop has to pass to catch up with Hill, meaning Hill passed all of those in those few seconds. He was flying.

If those cops didn't know it was Tyreek they probably have guns drawn at some point.

That officer shouldnt have a badge and is a danger to the community he is suppose to be serving. There was 0 provocation to take him to the ground and arrest him. Rolling up a window does not give the cops the right to arrest him.

The cop has already been put on administrative leave and if Tyreek pursues it will get paid and have him fired. Cops are public employees and should be held to the highest standard because of the power they hold.

Not given a pass because the guy in a car that cost more than my house made them scared by rolling up his window. Any one with common sense would have known that Tyreek Hill was not a threat.
They had a right to arrest him based on his misdemeanor traffic violation. It wasn’t a simple ticket from my understanding. He refused and they have every right to pull him out. They were respectful and did not break his window. And drag him out but they would have been justified. Hill is solely responsible here and the NFL better backtrack and support their cops in this situation. Hill is extremely fortunate to escape arrest here.

You don’t have the right to disobey lawful orders in this country.

It was careless driving, not reckless driving. So it is a citation, not a misdemeanor

His windows were down so the officer could clearly see he wasn't wearing a seat belt.

What a stupid thing to do to rip a Miami dolphin player out of his vehicle like that. Can you imagine the outcry if the cops injured Tyreek?

Cops don't seem to have the "power" you talk about!!!! If they did Tyreek would'nt have given the cop a bunch of lip from the start. Tyreek knew he did wrong but thought he was above it all and acted like the cops should do what he said!!!!! The whole country is like that today and that is why the cops shouldn't take a lot of shit anymore.

Did your mom or dad use the line "Stop crying before I give you something to cry about?" on you? I know I got that a few times in my life as a kid.

How is saying a cop is crazy for beating the hell out of a 350k car’s window a bunch of lip?

Tyreek rolled his window up after the officer took his ID. I don’t believe the cop ever said leave it down? Tyreek rolls it up to have a private conversation with his lawyer.

Then the cop starts beating on the glass again and tyreek rolls it down and asks him to stop. You’re saying police can trample over private property in the event of a simple traffic stop? You gonna bend over to a power hungry cop in a situation like that?

If Hill and Calais weren’t wealthy and an army of NFL security didn’t descend on the scene, they both would have been arrested and the charges would have included things like obstruction/resisting arrest/assault on an officer.it would have gone from a simple motor vehicle infraction to a felony.

legit stop. speeding in a construction zone. brazen and bellicose behavior from Tyreek. you cant big time a cop. If Tyreek had played that differently, he could have been on his way in 5 minutes plus however long it takes to take 3 selfies.
