Brandon Allen will probably be released once Lock is off IR. That said, Allen fulfills a big criteria the Broncos need in a backup QB, he knows the offensive system the Broncos run and he's capable of executing the game plan if Flacco gets hurt. [Reply]

How exactly does he know the offensive system? I must be lost. He didn’t play for the 9ers. It was the Rams after the Jags. Who’s system does he know? Maybe I’m just dumb (very possible actually) but I don’t see the connection.
Ask what in the hell gives you the idea he’s capable of executing the game plan when he’s taken exactly ZERO game time snaps in the 3 years he’s been in the league. Are you thinking he’s capable because Failway made him backup qb? Because if that’s what you’re hanging your hat on, you might wanna look at recent history of Failway picked QBs. My bad, Allen was released by the Rams and McVay's offense is similar in style/concepts that the Broncos offensive coordinator uses. [Reply]
