Lynch was drafted in 2016, Mahomes was drafted in 2017. Elway was not looking to draft another QB in the first round, it's pretty simple to understand. [Reply]

In what world does Paxton Lynch prevent anyone from drafting Patrick Mahomes? Literally nobody, outside of horseface/donk fan, is that stupid.
Nobody is going to find that "pretty simple to understand" because it doesn't make any sense. I get that you're a homer, but that's ridiculous.
One of those two had the clear potential to be League MVP. The other had a reputation of being lazy and not caring that much about football. [Reply]

That has everything to do with Klingsbury becoming the new HC. Didn't the Cards also fire their GM? It's too early to know if all the moves the cards made will pan out, but if you're going to point to them as some kind of genius for dumping a QB they drafted at #10 in one draft, for a QB picked #1 overall in the very next draft, you have to question the overall managing of the franchise from top to bottom. Lynch was drafted as a project, he was never going to start immediately. Unfortunately it didn't pan out and the Broncos moved on after 3 seasons. [Reply]

I'm not painting them as geniuses. It's more of a backhanded compliment. "Even the Cardinals dumpster fire of an organization knows to cut bait to get a superior QB." [Reply]

Didn't the donx have a new coach as well? What, did Vance Joseph somehow prevent the donx from taking a significantly better QB? Who was actually running that clown show? [Reply]

Just to be clear: You're claiming that horseface didn't want to draft a potential NFL MVP because of a project QB that likely wouldn't remain in the league (due to his lack of skill/interest)? That's your position? You understand that's insane, right? [Reply]

I guess we will know soon enough if what the Cards did was the best for the future of the franchise. I thought the Bidwells were, perhaps, the worst owners in the NFL but after they got the new stadium, they appear to be making better decisions (bringing in Kurt Warner, for example). Who knows, perhaps they will be holding the Lombardi up in the next few years, or maybe they will be drafting 1/1 again in the next few years? [Reply]

Fact is, no one knew Mahomes was going to be as good as he is, not anyone, including you or anyone on this board, or anyone in the KC franchise, or anyone in the entire NFL. Congrats on your new QB, well done for drafting him, that said, no one knew he'd be as good as he is, did they?
Wouldn't Mahomes have been drafted 1/1 like Fischer, if it was obvious to everyone that he'd be an immediate pro-bowl QB? [Reply]

Veach did and by all accounts he hounded big red until he finally took a look and pulled the trigger. [Reply]

Yes, VJ was another mistake and rumor has it that it was not Elway who wanted VJ has HC but it was Joe Ellis who wanted VJ. VJ was in over his head and now the Broncos are on a more veteran type of HC, almost the opposite of VJ. [Reply]

Fair enough, but I'm sure Veach was pleasantly surprised by how good Mahomes is, even if he won't admit it. Again, had your coaching staff known how good Mahomes would be they would have started him immediately and got rid of the other guy [Reply]

I don't think everyone knewhe'd redefine the position, BUT literally everyone (sans elway/donk fan) clearly understood he'd be eons better than Paxton ****ing Lynch. Even you understand that, right? [Reply]
