I do prefer my fries crispy too. Cook 'em twice.
My mom used to cut up potatoes and fry them twice. They weren't terribly crispy but they were they by God best fries I've ever had ever.
Tonight I just grilled up a burger with season salt and pepper and threw some gates at it at the end. Cucumbers and watermelon. Few Cheetos on the side.

We went out to eat to this relatively new Ale House that has lots of New England fare as the owners are from Mass. It's where I can get some of my old favorites from home. Only tonight they at stuffed cabbage for $7. Had a side of mashed. Hit the spot. That is cheap for a beachy tourist area. [Reply]

Pork butt is cheap and pretty hands-off. If you don't have a smoker, roast it low and slow. This can be turned into anything from BBQ to carnitas to chili.
Cassoulet with like chicken and sausage. Beans fill out the recipe. Tasty.
A full roasted chicken is an excellent call, extremely cost effective, multiple meals

Ended up going fishing and didnt feel like hitting the store on the way home, so... Taco Smell it is, for a little over $6 I can stuff my face
On hand are 4 center cut boneless pork chops, a little over two pound sirloin tip, and a bag of catfish fillets... but all were frozen and there wasnt time to thaw them properly [Reply]
