Verily i say unto thee for what is relevancy for but a mere construct. Didn’t you guys lose to K-State? Sheeet we beat those kids earlier this season like they were a group of armless droopy eyed children. [Reply]
Vernon said the players and coaching staff got into an argument after the Utah (primarily Zeke Mayo apparently) and that Self has lost the locker room (if that wasn't clear already by today's game). [Reply]

Yeah, heard that. Sure looks like it.
Gotta think a coach in this era won’t command respect like the past. These players are rich and can leave when they want.
I heard there was a chance Mayo wasn’t even going to start tonight. [Reply]

Get ready to learn modern basketball with Nate Oats buddy. My body is ready [Reply]

He's actually shooting a career best from 2FG and drawing the most fouls he's ever drawn which albeit is still low. He's cut his turnovers down a tad. He's just missing from 3.
Outside of his outside shooting it the same Harris, if not a little better than he has been. Hes always been this guy. [Reply]

I imagine the players watching KJ get unlimited minutes no matter how little he’s doing out there (particularly after Flory played great as a starter) has done the coaching staff no favors. They know Self has his favorites and nothing they can do will change that.
It’s not an excuse for just quitting like this but it may help explain why they’ve lost the room. [Reply]

His 3PT percentage dropping by over 10 points is more significant than anything else considering this team’s lack of spacing/shooting. They need better than that and they’re not getting it. [Reply]
Been a KU fan since birth. I have vague memories of the early 80’s, a few better memories in the mid-80’s when Larry took over from Ted Owens, and the sleeping giant that happened with Larry and Roy.
Weirdest years were upon my graduation when Ryan Robertson was probably the best player on the floor. Two weird years between the Jacque, Raef, Pollard, Pierce teams to the Boschee, Gooden, Hinrich, Collison teams…
Bill took over, got us into the Elite 8 first year with a weird mix of his players/style and Roy’s boys. Should’ve been a final four team if not for Jacks going apeshit in the best GATech team ever.
Then we saw Bill have some solid couple years, but shit the bed in the tourney, Bucknell, Bradley were bad. And people wanted Bill fired. But then he got the recruits, and we won a championship in a miraculous way in ‘08, a game where many would say Bill outcoached Calipari and Memphis went soft. This team also boatraced Roy in the FF, which exorcised some demons among dipshit jealous fans for Roy.
Great teams for the past 15+ years since, and another Natty, plus the Covid year when that team was actually the best team I’ve seen since ‘08.
We’re in strange territory, because all those stories and memories don’t seem like they mean a damn thing.
This team was loaded to begin the season. We played big. We beat good/great teams. And then we dumped our first game in the Big 12 season to WV. And we just keep dumping. No significant injuries….
The whole damn team has regressed, the lineup stinks, Bill is tap-dancing, and the whole world sees this team as completely dysfunctional and the coaches have lost the locker room.
So be it.
Let this be a learning lesson to Bill and the staff going forward. And I hope Bill is ready to coach again and maybe this team can do “anything” going forward, but if it’s really as shitty as it sounds, I say flush it. And if I’m Bill, I continue to lip service and move on. Let this team embarrass themselves and Bill will take it, and hopefully no more dipshit October speeches about how it’s been too long since we won a Natty, and Coach and let these fuckers play. Bill can coach, but this is weird.
