Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

I'm concerned the 2nd half of that Bengals game is still in the back of his mind. That was my biggest fear for this season.

The Colts one wasn’t that bad. We just didn’t have much time and were in a desperate spot

No excuse for the Bills one, he didn’t see the DB. Uncharacteristic mistake by him

Part of that is just sample size... the Cards game was garbage time, as well as the Bucs game (and he threw a 4th quarter pick). That leaves 4 games and he had like two 4th quarter drives in a couple of those games.

Doesn't dismiss game ending picks and so forth... then again it's not nearly as bad as the offense was at this time last season.

I think that was just great D by Buffalo. Miller beat Wylie to the inside, flushing Pat to the right and right into the path of Milano, who was spying him. He threw under duress to Skyy, who had beaten his man, but what Pat didn’t foresee was that the Bill who intercepted had left his man (JuJu?) and made an excellent break on the ball.

That was a lot for Mahomes to process under that pressure. I’d tip my hat to the Bills on that one.

Also completely fucked 4 minute drives against the Raiders and Bills. There's a pretty troubling trend developing.

Offensive line folds in pressure situations.

Slightly disagree. He made some pretty poor decisions on those drives as well.

I have no doubt Mahomes can correct the trend, but it won't be on his own. He needs help from his OL and trust with his WRs.

Of course but he's not in it by himself (I see you beat me to it).

That's the more troubling thing, and as you noted it's a team thing -- play calling, execution, etc. They got the ball with a chance to close the game out and failed both times. Got lucky vs. the Raiders (I'm thinking the brief bobble by Adams on third down).

Lack of talent at offensive skill positions. Exactly two guys who can worry a defense, and the rest are JAG.

He needs to be a lot sharper than he has been this year so far, but at least he's playing better than 12 months ago. By the time we made it to late December & January last season, he was playing at a much higher level. We'll see if he can pull off similar improvement by the end of this season.

What's interesting is it seems like defenses are having more success this year than the past. There are only two QB's with significant playing time who are above 70/100 QBR on ESPN's list and Mahomes is one of them, despite his struggles this season. Tua doesn't count, given that he has missed a lot of time. Everyone else is 68/100 or lower in the list. Justin Herbert threw 57 passes last night without a touchdown. In 2019, there were 7 QB's who finished a 16 game season above 70/100 QBR on ESPN. This season it looks like that number will be 2 guys at most.

"Can't pay for Tyreek, won't have money elsewhere need teh draft picks"

"Not enough talent at skill positions".

He’s made some mistakes but I can’t complain about the results

Having the highest scoring offense and being tied for 1st in touchdown passes with these tackles and weapons is pretty good

O-line needs fixing fast, at least something to just get us to average on the ends.
