Not to be a wet blanket but is it time to shift blame away from the WRs and opposing defensive schemes for our lackluster deep passing game? Granted Hardman had an ugly drop but Pat missed a few more shots that we've been waiting for him and the WRs to "get on the same page" with [Reply]

Sadly the moral of the story is that mahomes and tyreek both got what they needed out of the trade. But ultimately they would have both been better off together. Mahomes needed a year without tyreek not only to prove to others he can do it, but also to learn to spread the ball around. Tyreek has proven that he can carry an average qb so he doesn’t look like purely a product of mahomes and Reid. Ultimately I’m happy with how this has helped mahomes. But not a day passes where I don’t think about how absurd this passing offense would have been with tyreek and mvs (instead of Hardman) with juju running underneath.
In an ideal world they would take a year off away from each other then reconnect. But obviously that will never happen. [Reply]

Nah I think it's mostly the WRs, plus OUR scheme.
I think Matt Lane was the one who said we just don't stress going over the top like teams like Buffalo do, even against 2 high. We prefer the deep crosses.
But I think it's mainly the WRs. We just don't have a Diggs or Gabe Davis who have the speed & ability to track & make tough catches down the field & we don't have a Mike Williams that we can just throw it up to to make a tough contested catch down the field.
Now, MVS has definitely been that deep threat guy in GB, but we aren't really using him that way here it seems like. And Hardman is the only other one with the speed to get a step open downfield, but Pat doesn't seem to trust him unless he's open by a few steps.
But yeah, I think it's mostly our scheme plus our WRs and to a certain degree the pass protection this year.
Ngl though I miss seeing Patty launch bombs on go routes and wish we'd atleast try it more. Let MVS go make a play or force a DPI.

WR had receptions of 30,23,28, and 36 in that game. Yea Pat missed a few throws but they are taking the shots. [Reply]

NFL defensive backs >>> Big XII defensive backs. They get there faster and cover way better which demands the ball gets there quickfast and in a hurry.
