the only thing that stopped mahomes from winning three straight super bowls was the toe

yes, i'm convinced that if his toe was 100% the last two years he beats tampa bay in the super bowl, OL be damned

and since he wasn't 100% to start 2021, one more win gives us the one seed and an easier path

yep

tom brady/bob sutton and a toe

that's all that stopped four straight super bowls

the greatest dynasty of all time, and if you really think about it, starting mahomes in 2017 after alex's slump, probably gets THAT team over the hump

so tom brady/bob sutton, a toe, and andy reid's stubborn dedication to alex smith

that's all that stopped five straight super bowls

so get ready for like six or seven straight

IMO Mahomes' Toe did not effect his SB performance. He was running around like a madman and you don't do that on a toe that is really bad.

The 2 TD drops by Williams and Hill were a backbreaker, even with the OL problems.

Collinsworth is convinced the toe was a huge issue in the SB loss.

The Britt Reid drama didn't help. Major distraction and funk.

he wasn't as quick and didn't have the same acceleration

This. Totally affected the team. They didn’t look into the game even before the first snap.

Kelce drop on 3rd down early in the game was pretty huge as well. Would have been a 20+ yard gain. Instead they were punting from deep in their own territory.

That reminds me.. Did anyone else notice or find it a bit weird how..

They made mention of Mahomes limping at some point during the game. It seemed pretty innocuous, but I think his foot got stepped on. They show him limping and, I think it was Michaels, was all "Ooooooooh, you don't wanna see that".

Then Sneed trashes Brady, who gets up and is visibly in some pain, stretching out his arm, but they don't even mention it.

Ultimately it doesn't matter so much but I thought it was strange. Brady is incredible but he's 45 and it turns out he did suffer a rotator cuff injury from that Sneed hit, while I don't think Mahomes was any worse for wear.
