And we don't want that.

But take heart! You should know by now that Elwoe won't be fired. He can NEVER be fired! He's been to two SB's, won 1, and won the division for 5 years. When you add all that up with his legacy as a player, they will NEVER can him. Elwoe will be the Denver GM for as long as he wants the job. And you know he loves football WAY too much to quit.

Enjoy!
:-) PRAYERS ANSEWRED then!

If they take Greedy, then we MIGHT have a shot at getting one of the better CB's. But it's very, very slim.

This thread has lost it's burst. It's just not the same without KnowShit and Kramzitinhisrectum coming in here spouting their ridiculous takes. I guess that they grew on me(like a wart. Lol). They were annoying. But their takes we're so ridiculous that they were comedy gold.

See? It's boring when the Raiders and Donkeys suck. It's much more fun hating them when they're at least a threat.

Who would fire Elway at this point? I mean that literally. Who in that organization has the power to fire him? Who’s in charge of Elway? Who does he report to?

As long as there’s instability at ownership, nobody will fire Elway because I don’t think anybody there actually has the power to hire a replacement either

Yeah, there's that ruling council, but they all seem to be embroiled in the ownership debate. There's nobody minding the store.

I also figure that if you're some no-name ruling council person, there's a big self-sacrifice involved in firing Elway. I think a lot of Broncos fans have figured out that he's a failure, but there'll always be a large number who look at him like Pepe Le Pew looked at that female cat. The person who fires Elway will be vilified by half of Broncos fans who can't rationally see the problem, and hated by the other half because it proved the emperor had no clothes.

It's going to take one of those Bowlen chicks winning the war, figuring out how football works, and then realizing that the egotistic old sot telling 1988-era stories in the big office is the reason. That's going to take a while.

Nobody on the Board of Trustees is qualified to suss out a new GM...so Horseface is there until he decides to quit.

The only reason I can see doing this bizzare Flacco trade is they have their sights on the 2020 QB class. A lot of teams who need QBs are either going to sign a vet or draft one...Miami, Giants, Washington, and Jags....that leaves the Chargers, Pats, Saints and Steelers...maybe the Bucs in play after the season. Donks will likely be the worst of all of them...I think they wanted Herbert. I could see Arizona trying to flip Rosen and taking Murray (which I would do )...so all four of those teams with an aging QB might bite. Chargers get a Cali boy QB....that makes too much marketing sense to pass up.

Maybe Horseface is trying to mask the fact he (his new staff) finally recognized they are rebuilding...and can keep Flacco on a year to year.

With Mahomes in the division...you cant draft Lock and expect to compete head to head. He might be tanking for Lawrence in a few years...

It's optics and while the last few years have been a mess and however you would like to frame their success from 2011-2015, it was on his watch. They're three years removed from winning a SB and having competed in 2 SBs.

Right or wrong, it will take a few more years of hell before they build up the guts to fire him and take the heat for removing a legend. That's just how it is, Elway has been an icon in Denver for nearly 4 decades.

Remains to be seen how 2019 plays out if they are over .500 - that task of moving him out gets tougher. Call me blind, loyal to a fault, whatever... but, yes, while he's made some bad mistakes, I'm fine with him at the helm right now.
