Nzoner's Game Room>Pro Bowl LT DJ Humphries [signed by Chiefs]
SHOWTIME 09:18 AM 11-22-2024
Does Veach give him a call?

I predict @Chiefs. Makes too much sense https://t.co/hu5xdI5KF2

Imo we have absolutely nothing to lose by putting DJ in there. If he can't step up then just go back to Thuney. It's just that simple. Because the run game needs to be better if we want to see this offense be what we hope it will be. Nothing Joe did today was anything DJ can't do Imo.

It's a problem, but I don't think there's a solution. Our best hope is just hanging on for two more games.
Agreed.

We have absolutely everything to lose by changing it up in the AFCCG.

And it's also not happening.

We let up three sacks today and ran for net 50 yards. Again. We have nothing to lose.

Offense like that again and we lose next week. That's on Reid to figure out.

We can analyze our offensive output to hell and back over the next week to figure out exactly where to place the blame.

I would LOVE another 2 weeks to get a good look at Humphries and make a better decision at LT. But we are past the point of no return. It's the AFC Championship game. We are absolutely not changing anything at this late stage in the season. The coaching staff has made their decision. It is ride or die with Thuney and we're not changing it, for better or worse.

I don't care that it's the AFC game as making the change could actually help this team. Joe did nothing today to seperate himself from DJ imo as he let up a sack and was under fire several times. Moving Joe back to guard may help our run game too.

I agree. Why be average at two positions when you can be great at one and average at the other

If the offense plays like they did today, they won't be in the Super Bowl.

That being said, the Texans have better pass rushers than either the Ravens or Bills.

We better hope they get better because this is what we are going to see as far as a lineup the rest of the way.

I agree. Thuney was no better than Humphries in the broncos game. In fact it was very similar.
But I can guarantee Thuney is way better than what Caliendo gave us

It might. It's possible.

But is anyone going to take that risk? You've had two weeks of rest and prep time to pick someone to play LT, you pick them, and then the next week you tell the coaches and the players you're going with the other guy? You really wanna throw a wrench in the gameplan like that? Share snaps between both guys in case Humphries doesn't work out?

It's unfeasible. It just doesn't work. The entire team suffers trying to juggle 2 different guys at the most important position on the line. You pick a guy and stick with him to avoid this exact situation.

It truly sucks. We never found a suitable guy at LT and now the entire left side of the line is compromised. But that's just how the dice fell this year. The deadline to find a fix at LT was 1 month ago, hopefully sooner, and they didn't get it done.

This is what we're left with. And we have to make it work for 2 more games.

Agreed. The offense was hot rotten garbage today. It has to be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY fucking better to beat either of the Bills or Ravens next week.

That’s not true. The Ravens have good pass rushers. Van Noy 12.5 sacks and Owen 10 sacks

We've already beaten them.

We've already shut down Henry.
