The #Chiefs are hiring Steve Spagnuolo as their new defensive coordinator, sources say. The former #Giants DC and interim HC/#Rams HC began his NFL coaching career as an #Eagles assistant under Andy Reid. Now rejoins Big Red in KC.
The next dude on TV who says “Steve Spagnola” is going to be ruthlessly mocked by me! On the internet, too! That shit never disappears on the internet! [Reply]

It was a brand new defense with a bunch of new guys. I kind of expected it would take a little while to get it together.
in 2021, it looked to me like guys were dogging it, which would indicate that he'd lost them. It happens to all coaches eventually, unless they just turn the roster over continuously like Belichick does (just as an example).
I kind of figured it was time to switch defensive staffs along with the high priced vets and start over.
I still think it's probably time to move on from the high priced vets not named Chris Jones this offseason, but Spags has proved he still has their ears. [Reply]

Sad but true. We’re stuck with his useless ass.
This thread is full of lazy, uninformed takes. [Reply]

I know this may sound counterintuitive, but those teams are relegated to also-ran status because the MLBPA is too strong, and severely top heavy.
The players association will never approve a salary cap, because the stars of the game would rather make $25-$40 million dollars a year, than approve something that would increase the salaries of the lower tier players while also leveling the playing field for small market teams.
The MLBPA is the strongest union in professional sports, yet it actively craps on 80% of its members because the top 20% is too FN greedy.
