See, that's where we part company. You say "led", I say "WAS led".

And by a roster that a QB with even a few more microns of testicle could more than likely take to a championship.

Thank God we're working on that issue now; it's about fucking time!

How can a quarterback that led one of the worst passing offenses the past 4 seasons be considered a 'franchise quarterback'

Well, Dorsey, Reid and the rest of the NFL disagrees with you

All that and a bag of chips gets you absolutely nothing other than a meaningless win over a turd QB and another joke of a team.

Everything is seen through rose-colored Chiefs lenses on Dane McCloud9!

Did you know Alex Smith will lead us to the AFC Championship game this year and return in 2018? IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN, FOLKS! STRAP IN!

So, please list the veteran Franchise QB's in the NFL, outside of clear Hall of Famers (Brady, Manning, Rothlisberger, Rodgers, Brees) and their accomplishments, while explaining why Alex Smith doesn't belong in the group.

Thanks in advance.

No, I just understand football, which is something that clearly, you don't, Geno

I guess if you wanted below average consistency you could consider Alex a franchise quarterback.

However, I don't think many executives would agree.

it has to be awkward that when the media interviews chiefs staff, you wouldn't even know alex is still the starting qb. i do not see this season as one where the qb room 'gels' together. :-)

GoChiefs has got to be the happiest man on the planet Earth right now. Drafting a QB in Rd1, moving up substantiably to draft him has him oozing with pre ejeculate as his prayers have been answered. But you know what, we're ALL excited. It gives us hope.

Alex played scared last year, Dane.

He played scared to run and didn't pull the trigger when we needed him to the most.

It got far worse after the multiple concussion game.

I've been hoping Alex would find his balls since he got here and he gave us a taste of what he can be in the second half of 2013, the Indy playoff game and most of 2015.

Unfortunately, he regressed last year and "took it personally" (his own words) that the team cut Maclin.

I think his regression continues into 2017 because he keeps worrying about concussions and therefore stopped being an elusive runner and even told the media he thinks about taking hits and contemplated retirement.

It's a shame, too.

If the guy just makes either throw to Hill against Pittsburg, his story in KC plays out differently.

It's silly to think that's not a realistic goal for the 2017 Chiefs.

the question is this: does the drafting of pat-trick put echoes in alex's head to his detriment, or does alex let it rip knowing he is interviewing for his next team? :-)
