Will Cole Ragans turn into the best Royals starting pitcher since Greinke 1.0?

And I'm almost positive "You've got a hit on your hands!" was the slogan from the 1985 season. Pretty sure "Go for the action" was 1982? And things got really slick in 1983 when it was "Turn on the action". I think 1984 was "Something Special in the Air". Always liked that one. 1986 had "The Thrill of it All!" But things started to get pretty bad though in the 90's leading to one of the worst, albeit memorable slogans: "You've gotta love these guys!" Not the best time for our pr/marketing crew.

I could go on and on blathering about this crap, but I won't.

77 was “We’re Riding The Big Blue Bus” might still have the bumper sticker.

78 was Catch Royalmania.

76 I’d have to ask Denny.

2014 was “Be Royal”. They showed that commercial at halftime of the Super Bowl locally.

And after Justin Maxwell closed the 13 season with that grand slam, I was pumped.

The Thrill of it all...Royals Baseball!!

This sticks in my head the most because it was the first season I paid full attention to damn near every pitch.

And wasn't "Be Royal" kinda riding on the coattails of that Lorde song popular at that time? I lived in NYC in 2014, but I distinctly remember more than one person bringing up the Royals simply due to Lorde, which I thought was damn peculiar, but hey, Royals. That's cool, even if it's because she saw a National Geographic magazine and got inspired...

This is really gonna rack my brain, but as I'm remembering them, there's so many that are just so bad and totally unmemorable!

For some reason, "Royals Fever! Catch it!" rings a bell, but I might be making that one up. I think 1988 might've been "Get in the Swing of it!". "Catch the Thrill" always made me laugh because the PR dept was clearly out of ideas at this point, and things started to get really bad. "It's Here!", "Catch All the Action!"... fucking seriously guys? "This is Hardball!", yeah, hard to fucking win... "KC Royals, Your Hometown Team!" Wasn't 2003 "We Believe!"?

Oh yeah... Just remembered this early aughts gem... "True. Blue. Tradition", and the next year was "New. Blue. Tradition". HAHAHAHA, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

"Our Time" stuck with me. That was when we brought up all those top prospects, Hosmer, Moose, Salvy, etc...

"Raised Royal" and "Forever Royal" are simple, but pretty good. I'm missing a lot, but those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head...

The thing that really separates the slogans now from the 70'/80's/early 90's was they used to come up with actual melodies to go with the slogan, as "You've Got a Hit on Your Hands" clearly illustrates in the above video. I can still remember all those little songs in my head... there's gotta be a way to find some old Royals commercials that include the song/slogan for each year... Go, go, go, go for the action! I can still remember that shit clearly...
