I think we can all agree the offense has not been up to par this season.
At this point, there's only so much we can do about it. Our best WR got injured and is missing the season, our best RB is out until December, our LT situation is messy and our stud TE is looking his age.
So, is this who we are now? Is 30 points a game a distant memory?
What can be done?
(Andy Reid is lurking in this thread, so make sure you're on your best behavior.) [Reply]

The playcalling seems to suggest that they don’t trust the LT either
Then is it a blind side thing? Go ahead and throw Taylor to LT and let your young guys work it out on the right side were Mahomes can see what's coming easier. [Reply]
That nice and all, but in the meantime we're left with Wanya Morris at LT. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but disregarding the public lip service and coach speak every action this team has taken indicates they don't think much of him at all. [Reply]

They left Suamataia out to ****ing die against Hendrickson, and since that's happened Mahomes has been gun shy.
Just a completely nonsensical decision by the entire staff that game.
Which is why it’s dumb as all fucking hell when people cry “NaGY!!!!!!” when this shit happens.
It’s Andy. Always has been.
This same shit happened in SB55. Mahomes was running for his goddamn life and getting destroyed all game and Andy left both tackles on islands with little-to-no help.

I think that’s the plan for the kid
Oh I don't doubt it.
But they had to have at least an inkling, after all of camp and the pre-season (and the Ravens game) that this MIGHT be an issue. So why don't you have a better plan than "Have a seat, kid" for the Bengals game?
I just think they duffed that situation pretty badly. [Reply]

Still weird.
Just from a neutral perspective, you took a fresh rookie LT and put him against an elite DE with basically zero help in his 2nd real NFL game. He got demolished. And then he got benched because he's not good enough?
Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, but that's not a great way to instill confidence in your potential franchise LT if that's how you view him. [Reply]

It will take time. I mean cam Taylor Britt called it that he’s a go route guy and we didn’t do anything to really show otherwise vs cincy
Before rice was rice he was dropping a lot of passes and making subtle bad route adjustments. The difference between rice and skyy is that rice quickly learned from these mistakes. Worthy probably will too. Like rice worthy showed he will probably mature way faster than Andy is willing to let him early on. Until then he is largely a clear out guy and every time we talked about Mvs being wide open all the time but we saw something different when the ball actually went in the air. Worthy will get there but for now he is probably going to be more effective doing mecole hardman things stretching the field wide versus vertical
How does any of this account for Mahomes missing him on a wide open TD against the Falcons? Was he not being an adequate right now? He was too raw to get a decent pass? [Reply]

I wanted to move Taylor to LT last season. And again this off-season.
But the ship has sailed now. You just can't risk that sort of change in-season. You've now put TWO positions in flux. And you can protect against one iffy tackle (should Reid have the inclination to do so) -- you really can't protect against 2 of 'em.
Keep Taylor where he is. He's been very good there this year.
And help out at LT. If all you're gonna throw is underneath stuff anyway, what's the harm in having a TE chip before he goes and runs his 4 yard out? [Reply]

Nagy was in Chicago
:-) That's your example? When the LT blows his Achilles the prior game, the RT is already gone for the year, and his fuckwit son puts a 5 year into a coma the game plan fell apart?
Yeah, no. I'm fucking sick of Nagy because the same exact shit he did in Chicago has infested this team to an alarming degree. Same lack of adjustments. Defaulting back to the same tired ass concepts. Yeah, it's the Andy Reid show, but Matt Nagy is a prominent producer in it and it's fucking shown.
The worst thing about it is he's going to stagnate the Chiefs OC position for years. Who the fuck is going to hire him after what's happened with Mahomes?!? Or God forbid, Reid retires and this sycophant gets the job by default because he's college buddies with Veach. [Reply]
We’ve got to stop blaming the LT play when Mahomes decides not to trust them. It’s his job to understand he has a perfect pocket when it’s there. If he’s assuming he’s going to get pressure every play then that’s pretty clearly a Mahomes issue to fix. I trust he would understand this. [Reply]

Who taught Nagy that? Who ran horizontal stuff all the time in Philly and then in the Alex years when Doug Pederson was OC? All roads lead back to Andy.
Pretty clear it’s a personnel issue that’s also affecting the QB. [Reply]
